I am glad to read that there are other “late” menopause people like me.
When I was still regularly having period in my early 50’s, I asked my Gyn how long it would be. He said he had one patient who didn’t go into menopause til 54. So I was waiting for that magic year to appear!
Anyway, that year I missed a period for the first time in my life, (except when pregnant or breastfeeding), had two, missed one again, had two, then they stopped.
The only thing like a hot flash is occasionally, at night, my back will get very hot, like a sunburn.
By the way, I remember in a cell biology course I took in college, it was said that the average woman releases 400 eggs in her lifetime. So, if you released one egg a month, all the months from menarche to menopause, subtracting those months of no periods, the number should be about 400.
