Well I’m circumcised and I’m not going to think there is something is wrong with me, because so many men seem to think it’s an injustice. I don’t see it as that, it’s merely a personal choice be it for religious, medical, or social reasons. I don’t think my life has ever been negatively impacted by losing my foreskin.

Eitherway my stance is I’m against double-standards and injustice, be it against women or men.
It’s not right that women expect men to pay their dates when she’s not serious in courting
and
It’s not right that a men who sleeps with many women is a positive trait but a woman it is a negative one…both are immoral.

I could name a hundred double-standards and injustices towards both women and men and I’m against both.

🙂 Yes. I am playing devil’s advocate here aren’t I?

But I think I am finally reaching *some *people.

I’m sure there are plenty of extreme feminists out there who think women should get all the same standards in the military as men do. That includes things like getting drafted and being allowed to join forces such as the Navy SEALS.

It really just depends on what group of feminists you talk to.
Yes… However are not those very feminists altering our society?

Yes it’s sad, but it’s true. I bring up men’s rights and I immediately get pinned as some 10th century backwards neanderthal.

Umm I don’t know about you, but the medical evidence for male circumcision is pretty solid.

Umm I don’t see myself as psychologically damaged, but if you think it has damaged you okay.

It continues because it’s my God-given right!
If circumcision was good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for me. You know you’re starting to sound like the whacko Feminists I can’t tolerate and the ones you despised. Back in the 70s those looney Feminists wanted to make women feel bad who decided to breastfeed…hey it’s their God-given right…LEAVE THEM ALONE!

I think parents have every right to choose to circumcise their boy or not…It’s none of my business and certainly not yours.
In regard to circumcision here is an interesting article. newtimes.org/issue/0110/cat.htm

Hmmmmmmm… I wonder what Feminists would say about a mirror situation for women?😉

The churches were against women working. They all taught that women belonged in the home rearing their children. But evolution goes on, not only in animals, but in society as well.
The churches lost their fight and society won. It won because taxes increased, and the race to give children a greater way of life, not to mention a car in every garage. And so women left the home to go to work without sufficient preparation and experience.

That event changed the world we live in, and in a very dynamic way. Where and how did women really belong and fit in the work place and in society? Now it had to play “catch up”.
It is and was a major adjustment for everyone. And we are still trying to figure it all out, but it is difficult for people to change.

IMO many of the problems are linked to the first fight of the churches against working women.
In summary, when women exchanged their dresses for pants, our society was in trouble.
I’m not blaming the women, but the changes in our society that brought that about.

I believe this is the reason, the time of adjustment, has cause warped ideas about the relationship of men and women. In some cases, to the extreme. In other cases, over done, or
under done. Unfortunately it has changed our affection for one another which underlies our understanding and consideration for one another. There are no perfect solutions just as there are no perfect people. But there are those who do care, and that is what it will take for it to work, that is, christians who will contribute.

Just some thoughts.

Thankyou.

Yes some churchs did go a little over board on this didnt they?

This is why I have said that the writtings of St. Paul need elucidation and pontification to clear up any confusion…, This could no doubt be a whole other thread.

I personally would welcome dialogue on such.

Yes… That would not surprise me. Must go for now. Will check back later.

I have no idea.

I am very grateful for the feminists that spoke out for equal pay, the right to vote, and the call for women to stand up against husbands who are oppressive. THEY definitely altered our society.

No one here is saying that feminism is always good, there are crazy people out there in every group. We are all just simply saying that feminism HAS been good. And has been necessary. You’re the one who’s been vehemently speaking out against all of feminism in general.

I sure hope this is your way of saying that circumcision is a man’s decision and not a woman’s, if not…thank you for once again trying to make me feel different, inadequate and guilty…but it’s not going to work. I’m proud of my body and this is just one woman who’s not a medical doctor and has little to no references, just voicing her worthless opinion.

I think circumcision is the parent’s decision. My father wanted me to be uncircumcised and my mother wanted me circumcised…I have talked with her about it, but I hold no hard feelings she along with my father did what they thought was best for me.

Either way this thread has lost me. I’ll just sit back and watch everyone else go at it.

Too many posts to read. So maybe I repeat what has been written.

Any list of “RIGHTS” not specifically identified for a particular group are Men’s Rights IMO.

Much more important than Men’s Rights should be Men’s Responsibilities.

We have a Responsibility to know and follow God as best we can. We have right to reject God and accept the consequences.

We have a Responsibility to LOVE our families - to protect and provide for them as best we can. We do not have any right to abuse them in any way.

We have a Responsibility to act with HONOR and INTEGRITY in all that we do. We have right to admonish those who do not.

IMO, if we men focus on these Responsibilities, we need not worry much about Men’s Rights.
  1. God first.
  2. Family second.
  3. All else third.

Certainly I am not saying that anyone should be ashamed of their body either way. I am simply stating that it happens on a pervasive scale and should be given much more thought.

Yes, I do assert that circumcision is a Men’s Issue.

Amen, my brother!

Yes, I concur in regard to the Men’s responsibilities. I do not think that anyone here is advocating abdicating those. As I say, we should all model St. Joseph.

However - I am also saying that much of feminism does indeed merit observation and reform. I am saying that feminism is affecting Men’s rights. I am saying feminism is taking our Society in directions we should not go.

I do not want to see the drafting of women. I do **not **want to have my child aborted. I do not want to live in a society where feminists typically denigrate men as has been evidenced by this very thread. I do not want to see feminists like Sebelius ram the HHS mandate down our throats. I do want to have access to male only clubs just as women have access to Women only areas.

I can go on and on.

Yes you can.

I haven’t seen any feminists degrading men in this thread.

What I have seen is you bringing up a hodgepodge of topics including circumcision, compensation, the draft and slavery.

Let’s focus, shall we?

Agreed. Unless of course, he thinks we were degrading men when we said we think it’s good that women can vote and get paid the same wage.

I second this! Amen!! 👍

Quite right! Are you not amazed how the* primary* pervasive attitude toward men is one of worthless abusers, and viewed as negligent of assisting in child care? How we have no right to our own children? Is this not astounding? I loved my child and changed her diapers continuously. I query myself and am wondering - why do I even have to feel the need to defend myself as a care giver as well? Why do I have to educate women in this regard? It is because of the pervasive ‘Culture of Discrimination’ that has been perpetuated -not by women, so much as by** Feminists** methinks.
Hah! I submit for your perusal this post. Plase inspect the attached link as* well.*

I rest my case.
