In regard to circumcision here is an interesting article. newtimes.org/issue/0110/cat.htm

Hmmmmmmm… I wonder what Feminists would say about a mirror situation for women?😉
Speak to your parents about why they thought circumcism was okay. No one forced them.
This has nothing to do with feminists or any of us.

I read that some Muslims do a symbolic version for their baby daughters for religious reasons. Are you suggesting genital mutilation for baby girls? As compensation for your circumcism at the request of your parents? You have a lot of anger against women.

The churches were against women working. They all taught that women belonged in the home rearing their children. But evolution goes on, not only in animals, but in society as well.
The churches lost their fight and society won. It won because taxes increased, and the race to give children a greater way of life, not to mention a car in every garage. And so women left the home to go to work without sufficient preparation and experience.

That event changed the world we live in, and in a very dynamic way. Where and how did women really belong and fit in the work place and in society? Now it had to play “catch up”.
It is and was a major adjustment for everyone. And we are still trying to figure it all out, but it is difficult for people to change.

IMO many of the problems are linked to the first fight of the churches against working women.
In summary, when women exchanged their dresses for pants, our society was in trouble.
I’m not blaming the women, but the changes in our society that brought that about.

I believe this is the reason, the time of adjustment, has cause warped ideas about the relationship of men and women. In some cases, to the extreme. In other cases, over done, or
under done. Unfortunately it has changed our affection for one another which underlies our understanding and consideration for one another. There are no perfect solutions just as there are no perfect people. But there are those who do care, and that is what it will take for it to work, that is, christians who will contribute.

Just some thoughts.
What fight did the Church lose? The Church has maintained God’s truth and has developed a better understanding of that Truth over the years.

Women have always worked with men, instead of men, in, around, outside their homes.whatever, for their families. Women do not need to ‘catch up’, some men need to.

Yes… Recompensation. Isn’t that an interesting topic? I often hear how many of my African American friends feel they should be compensated for slavery. *Welllllllllllllllllll… Should not **men ***be compensated for carrying this burden of men only being drafted for sooooooo long? ;):D:thumbsup:
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL 😛 :rotfl: 😛 :rotfl:

OK, dear reader, if you are a woman, just do me ONE favor to “compensate” me: STOP COMING TO CHURCH WITH BARE SHOULDERS AND SKIRTS/DRESSES ABOVE THE KNEES BECAUSE I HATE BEING FORCED TO STAY UNDER ONE ROOF WITH IMMODESTLY DRESSED WOMEN!!!

And yes, for the record, I’m a male who did serve in the military, and I did put my life on the line for protecting women and children whom I didn’t even know personally. So, please, SHOW SOME RESPECT FOR ME BY DRESSING DECENTLY AND MODESTLY FOR CHURCH, DEAR SISTER! Did you serve in the military, as a firefighter, or as a policeman? Did you put YOUR LIFE on the line for men/males you didn’t know?

I’m looking at men’s rights in general, as in the men’s rights movement.
I think any sort of “men’s rights” movement is ridiculous. It sounds effeminate and weak.

That sort of thinking puts men into the same whining, irrational realm of nonsense as feminists.

…

Come back when men can get pregnant, then we can talk.

…

Thanks for pointing out some double standards, the rest is misogynistic dreck from a privileged group whining about how they’re being forced to give up some of their privilege, though.
I haven’t seen any feminists degrading men in this thread.
I’d agree for the most part, but the two preceding quotes are offensive to me. The implication that women have more right to abort a child because they carry them, but then saying that once born men should take responsibility does bother me. Those are our children from the moment of conception, not just once they are born.

I also find it offensive when women call men who disagree with them misogynists. I have a niece who is a lesbian who calls me that because my wife and I decided that she would stay home and raise our kids. If I were a misogynist why would I have hired women 3 out of 7 times in a field where men out number women approximately 7 to 1? Yet when these women talk about how men can never do anything right; always doing something stupid; etc. I don’t say “well they’re a bunch of misandrists.” My niece on the other hand has said on more than one occasion that she would happily raise men to “milk them of their essence” and then kill them off so that the world would be a better place. Because of statements like that using misogynist will immediately remove any credibility in my eyes.
