message board cutting down Catholics

May God Bless you and guide you. I pray that your family accepts your decision. You must go where God leads you and be honest and true to yourself. Your family is only giving you a hard time because they love you.

What makes me the most sad about all of this is the whole concept of Christians evangelizing Christians. We all seem to have such negative views about each other and it is so very disturbing.

We’re fighting over who’s right when we should be concentrating on those who don’t even believe in Jesus Christ. Why not preach to Muslims or Buddhist or Atheist or those who are even further from the truth.

I understand that everyone thinks that his/her church is the right path to salvation, but I do not think their is only one path or only those of one denomination will obtain salvation. This doesn’t mean that I would just join any Church, but it does meant that a level of tolerance, understanding, love is necessary when conversing with our christian brothers and sisters.

Look just don’t let 'em see ya sweat. Their lack of honest scholarship and knowlege of the faith works FOR us and AGAINST them.

Get the San Juan Catholic Seminars books and study 'em with a pencil and highlighter in hand and you’ll have MOST of the answers that you need…the rest will come from the tracts and home page here. Those articles in back issues of THIS ROCK (Which does indeed ROCK!) and the tracts here are killer full of great info that speaks to most of the issues these clowns wanna talk smack about.
The guys on here are just the same…ignorant…biased… and hardheaded and hardhearted as well.

I’m just doing the best I can and I’m praying each time I post that I can reach someone and they will at least stop their false teaching of lies against the Catholic faith, I know we can’t expect them to change right away but if just someone can reach one person and they will quit spreading these false lies, even that would make a difference, it is very sad how wrong some people have the Catholic faith, my goodness, when I put myself into their shoes and what they think of us, yikes, they are so blinded to what it means to be Catholic, I just wonder where the heck they got their information in life about us, very sad.

I HEAR YOU. i tried getting into Bap-Board and they said sorry no professionals*.

I did find this one, but nobody really wants to debate. Either they keep us out and trash talk us, or they dont respond to what we have to say.

*Not to get off topic, but this reminded me of a joke, one of those “yo mama” jokes. It goes, yo mama so ugly she tried to enter an ugly contest and they said, “sorry no professionals”
This isnt directed at anyone, it just seems like they hear the word Mormon or something and they cant wait to get them in and trash them, but if they see the word Catholic your not welcome like they are scared or something.
 
Yep…Bap board " Declined" my registration as well. I’ll say this: as big a pain as they are when they come in here with all that stuff they say, I’m very very proud of CA for being as tolerant as we are. The Baps can try to justify it anyway they want, but it comes down to bigotry and lacking the courage of their convictions. Most of us aren’t “professionals”, but just run of the mill Catholics who have chosen to " Carefully study to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." (2nd Timothy 2:15). I can’t believe that so many come in here and try to bring down the whole Catholic Church with the same old rhetoric that we’ve been answering for 487 years as if it’s some hot newsflash to us. They’ll certainly never get me back again because now I see them for just what they are…and I couldn’t be like that and believe those errors. All I ask of the Holy Spirit is; (Luke 21:13-15)
“13 And it shall happen unto you for a testimony. 14 Lay it up therefore into your hearts, not to meditate before how you shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to resist and gainsay.”

Kamz is doing an excellent job. So now I won’t use Sola Scriptora for my subject. But I’m wondering of all the very many protestant bibles floating out there, how can I quote my NAB or Douay-Rheims for effect, if the other guys are using an entirely different interpretation? We could be arguing at cross purposes without realizing it?

P.S. I got the distinct impression that the protestants don’t realize that practice of Sola Scriptora is an interpretation from the Bible, not literally stated. :whistle:
 
ok Kevin and Sir Knight they don’t seem to be taking me too seriously and I’m going to need LOTS of help backing up my claims so you guys can step in anytime, they are beginning to walk over me and I figured they would and they are not even listening and they are quoting the exact scripture that I figured they would and I gave them proof of how they are interpreting scripture to make sola scriptura seem to appear in the bible where it really is nowhere to be found. When you ask them to show you in the bible where the bible teaches sola scriptura you just get a bunk of scripture and total evasion to really answering the question and I’m getting a bit frustrated so I need some major help!!! thanks 👍

if any of you are interested in defending the Catholic faith this message board I found is so confused about Catholics that it simply sickens me, they are saying that Catholics worship the Pope, Mary, dead people, the saints, rosary beads and that we are all doomed.
in particular one messager named grahame feels it is his duty to save the Catholics or their souls will be lost :confused:
Just wanted all the Catholics who want to defend our faith know about this, its sad how really confused these people are about us. 😦
