Michael Savage attacks the Catholic Church 3-28-06

I haven’t listened to Savage for a long time, finding him to be a blathering fool.

Anne Coulter goes after the Political Left with facts and wit. The Left cannot handle her.

Savage has no tact or wit. As pointed out, he is vehemently against illegal immigration. He bashes Bush and both parties for not doing enough to stop it.

It’s pretty well known that the Catholic bishops support amnesty of all illegal aliens. The entire USCCB voted on this a few years ago. The USCCB also favors allowing more poor immigrants to come here. This drives Savage nuts.

The words and deeds of some of the Catholic bishops on the West Coast regarding illegal immigration are well known. They don’t want to enforce the law.

So, who doesn’t? What’s worse, they’re a real detriment to the Church. That gives neither Savage nor you a right to attack me or any of the other Americans who are too “intelligent, educated and white” to “fill the pews,” thus necessitating the influx of people presumably dumb enough to do the job.

I happened to catch some of what he said on the evening of 3/28/06. He said something like, “The Catholic Church is the most evil institution on the face of the earth. They are rotten to the core and nothing but PIGS! Every one of them, from the very top to the very bottom”. That means us and our children are nothing but pigs according to Michael Savage, folks. He also said, “If you don’t like what I’m saying, you don’t have to listen to me”. I said, “Well, that’s one thing you’ve got right”, and immediately changed the station.

At first I was upset because my daughter happened to be in my truck with me when he said that. She is probably too young to understand what he said, but I do also believe it is important for my children to understand that as Catholics, they will be continually persecuted their whole lives by frustrated old fools like Michael Savage.

He is a bigot who hates the whole Church, the entire Church, and everyone in it. It’s time for us to wise-up about people like him and fight back. Why is it that Catholics are atomically free game for hate and bigotry?? If anyone ever had the nerve to say Jews or Muslims were pigs they would be ripped off the air immediately.

Last I checked Michael Savage is not a Native American. He reminds me of the “Unmerciful Servant” parable in Matthew 18:23-35, where the servant begs for forgiveness from his debts and then persecutes those who owe him.

Don’t kid yourselves, Michael Savage is no conservative! He just makes conservatives look bad, and supports the serotypes liberals have about us. He is the “Al Franken” of the conservative movement and an embarrassment. He is doing favors for nobody but himself and his pocketbook with hate-filled rants. Furthermore, he has never been able to substantiate one thing he has said about Catholics (or anything else for that matter) with anything more than bumper-sticker sloganeering. What a joke!

I’ve heard Hannity flame the Church before. Really hacked me off. Although, I have since heard him be more charitable.

I agree that his perspective was belittling! BUT IF WE DO NOT LEACH TO SAVAGE AS OUR POLITICAL REPRESENATIVE. THEN WHOM??? LETS REMEMBER THAT THIS PROBLEM IS RECIPROCATING. ARE LIBERAL BISHOPS ARE ERODING THE OPERATION OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND ITS CONVICTIONS. WHY OUR WE OUTRAGED AT SAVAGE WHEN OUR BISHOPS OUR SUBVERTING WHAT WE HOLD DEARSET TO OUR HEARTS. I BELIEVE SAVAGE COULD BE A FRIEND NOT A FOE! THE BISHOPS INCITED THIS FREY. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED NOR SHOULD WE GRANT AMNESTY TO THE 11MILLION CRIMINALS THAT ARE HERE. I have never in my long, long life heard anyone in the media (or for that matter, privately), use such horrible language about the Church. Moreover, he put down all the rest of us who happen to be, in his very own words, “intelligent, educated and white,” because no one like that would be dumb enough to fill the pews in Catholic Churches. In saying this, he not only demeaned all of us, but he implied (or he may have said more specifically), that those coming into the country were correspondingly dumb and would fill the empty pews. That’s why the Church is corrupt “from the top down” He also said that it was “molesters” in the Church that organized the immigration and/or the demonstrations (I didn’t hear exactly which thing.).

There was more. It was unbelievable.

I am adherent to the Gospel of Jesus Christ far before any political agenda:

Any human law that violates the Gospels is an invalid law and Catholics are NOT to adhere to it. That my friend is the teaching of our Holy Mother Church on immigration.

We (Americans) got ourselves into this mess by not enforcing the just laws we had regarding welcoming strangers into our country. Now we think the solution is to pass a bunch of unjust discriminatory laws that violate the Gospels. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

I use to listen to him too…I had to change the station when he comes on…for the same reasons. He may be right (no pun intendid) on a lot of issues, but you can be right without being an rude and disrespectful.

What I am referring to is the law that would make it a felony to be undocumented. That means if you give one of them any money, food, clothing, or shelter, you are aiding a felon and you will go to jail. Like our jails aren’t full enough. This law violates the teachings of Jesus Christ. Below is a news link that may help explain what I am talking about.

Sounds like a great place to plug Catholic Radio. We just lost our Catholic station here in Houston and I am so miserable without it. But all the rest of you should go to the radio pull down on this site and find out if there’s a Catholic station in your area.

They took almost all of that out of the law. Now you basically have to be hiding them for no good reason for it to be a felon.

I know I’m getting way of subject here, so I won’t go any further with the immigration issue on this thread.

I’m also not going to pretend to be any expert on immigration law, but how is “No good reason” defined? Also, if we don’t bother to properly enforce our current laws regarding illegal immigrants, why do we seem to think this is going to help? If people choose to ignore our current laws they will also ignore any new laws.
 
I just sent this letter and suggest you do the same. People like him will not stop until they are forced to.

First let me tell you how please I am that I found you on my radio dial. consider myself very conservative and agree with the majority of the topics covered. Saying that, was especially offended when on March 28th when Michael Savage said the Catholic Church instigated the Immigration protests in California. He was rambling, but he mentioned the priest scandal, greed, and corruption. He was on a rant. I had to turn your station because of his mean spirited, hateful comments. I have no intentions of tuning into your station during the hours Michael Savage is on. I also plan to inform your advertisers of my decision.
