During an appearance at a pro-life fundraising event on Monday night, pro-life potential Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee confirmed that, for him, abortion is the most important political issue.

“For me this is an issue that — as I’ve said before — it transcends all of the political issues,” he said. “I’ve often said I would gladly lose an election before I would ever yield on the issue of the sanctity of human life.”

Economy and globalisation are Mike when are you and your fellow reps gonna get it right? Stop selling us/me the gay marriage/abortion junk. Its worse than hiding behind the flag and talking about God as if you people care.

Those other issues are moral ones and as far as I am concerned let the woman and murerous doctor answer to god, I need a job and am in danger of losing my hone and NOBODY is gonna warp me into thos same two issues again as being the most important that even IF make illegal can still be done while fixing the economy WILL make immediate changes

Mike Huckabee is right. Abortion IS the most important Political Issue facing our Country.

He sees the light.
(Jesus is the light of the world).

Many of our Bishops put out a Voter Guide for “Serious, Practicing Catholics.” Right here at CAF, they made a Catholic Voter Guide available and reasonably priced-for people to distribute. And many Catholics argue over and over their own “thoughts” and “feelings” vs the Leadership of Our Faith-when it comes to Faith and Morals, which is dictated. Christ sent His Mother to us in Fatima-and revealed smoke has entered the Church.

The smoke has entered the laity-and it is visible all around. Those with hard hearts do not want to learn their Faith. I too, have been wrong in my belief on certain things within the Catholic Faith. But when shown-we all need to stand up for the Church, and Her Teachings-2,000 years strong-unchanged!

Like Father John Corapi says, “God is NOT a disinterested spectator in the affairs of man.” Eventually, God will say, “Enough!”

When Cain slew Abel, his blood cried to Heaven from the earth. Can you imagine what Heaven sounds like? The cries must be deafening.

If you do not have life (if you are not alive)—none of the other issues matter.🤷

The world is sick, and needs the Divine Physician.
Like we pray at Mass each day: “As we wait in Joyful Hope, for the Coming of Our Savior, Jesus Christ!”

Joyful!

God bless you.
+Jesus, I Trust In You!
Love, Dawn

“Don’t be so open minded that your brains fall out!”

Hundreds of millions of dollars are given to Planned Parenthood every year from tax. Abortion is not only a moral issue, it goes into the economy too.

Abortion is wrong, its one reason I voted Republican in the past. At the same time no Republican right now imo can really play the moral card without sounding hypocritical: hundreds of thousands of people died already in the illegitimate Iraqi war (look at the stats). They are the reason Health Care Reform legislation came to be flawed in the first place and then they continue to play a basic spoiler role so no can get anything done. It was Republican president who showed time and time again lack of ability to help people other than the rich (Katrina, taxes).

Well, you were at a pro-life fundraiser, Mike, and I would expect you to say nothing less! I guess I’ve become a skeptic. I will always vote for a pro-life candidate, but sorry - I’ve had to cross you off my list. You’ll understand of course - the global movement which you espouse, your love of big government, your cherished tax and spend policies, as well as your support (and subsequent flip-flop) on cap and trade, and your support for illegal immigration in Arkansas have left me fairly breathless and slightly suspicious of you for having tried to come under the wire as a conservative (or even a Republican!)

is this mike huckabee, the politician, talking, or a candidate giving his sincere opinion.
i am not sure i can believe that he is sincere.
i wasn’t a big fan of huckabee in the past, although i am a republican. i don’t watch his show too often on fox. he has a nice smile and seems like a nice person, but i am not sure i want him for president.
abortion is an important issue for me. i am very pro-life. i would like to see a pro-life candidate get into office that could make a lot of changes.

Not every Republican or every Republican congressman agreed with the Iraq war. Ron Paul voted against the Iraq war.

Of course it is. He’s gearing up for a presidential run and he needs pro-life votes.

Mike Huckabee said:

…until something more important comes along. Notice what he didn’t say…that he’d make ending legal abortion his #1 priority.

It’s always that way with these politicians.

“As long as a Country performs abortions there will be no peace”.
Mother Theresa.

He’s absolutely right. Can’t have tax cuts and social programs if you are murdered.

I am going to have to reconsider his candidacy. 🙂

Don’t derail this by making it about the morally and strategically legitimate Liberation of Iraq. Find another thread please.

And if that’s the issue he stakes his campaign on, then he will, in fact, lose the election. Despite his words to the contrary, I highly doubt that he would be “glad” on election night.

Much better that he be just another politician that stands for everything and nothing at the same time? We have lots of those already.

I must disagree with Gov. Huckabee.Abortion is not the most important political issue facing this country-it is the most important issue ,period.

If it comes down to casting a vote for the usual suspects; ie

Huckabee
Romney
McCain

I will simply sit out the election. And Id never vote for Palin.

If Ron Paul isnt taken serious again, Im out.

Mark my words…I predict here and now Jeb Bush IS gonna run and be the nominee…and I also aint interested in giving the Bush’s a Dynasty

The Governor is getting beat up over this, so I’ll lend him support. It is a political issue, and certainly the most important for large numbers of Americans!

Whether or not it is important enough to dominate the '12 election is still problematic.
