👍

In other news, John Travolta is being sued for sexual assaults against unnamed plaintiffs. They say there are 5 more who may speak up and join the suit.
Unnamed sources say the CAF poster known as Havard may hail from a planet known as “Krypton”. 👍

This thread is a perfect example of the board being Democrat first and Christian second. A man is being accused for physically harassing someone for looking different (and in my belief for being perceived as gay) with no proof.

Lol how is long hair unmanly?! Jesus had long hair.
Did you go to the hair parlor to have it bleached?
Romney’s victim isn’t whining; he’s dead.
I thought the victim was the in the closet guy that Romney called Mrs. TinkleBump during class one time 40 years ago. He is whining and mewling and desperately hoping to get more than 15 seconds on MSNBC.

Also, if you think getting a conservative haircut is bad, I had a big “69” shaved in the back of my head in high school as part of hazing. Then again, I took it in stride as part of the silliness that it was, not as “bullying”.
But if it had been done to you because of your race, religion, or sexual orientation, I bet you would be thinking a little differently about that incident. Just because you were okay with having that done to you, doesn’t mean that someone else should put up with being bullied for his sexual orientation. I think you were just trying to give us an amusing anecdote, but really…there is no excuse for bullying, and no child should have to take it in stride.

There are Catholics of every type here, just don’t assume any one is representative of anything other than himself/herself and you’ll be fine.

Assuming the allegations, which are both denied, and based on little to no evidence, are true.

You choose to be hazed tho. THis kid had no say.

This thread is a perfect example of the board being Republican first and Christian second. A man is being defended for physically harassing someone for looking different (and in my belief for being perceived as gay). As a senior in high school, Mitt definitely should have known better. Classic bullying behavior. Sickening. And what’s even worse is to see people defend him at all costs.
This happened nearly 50 years ago and Christians believe in repentance. He has apologized.

Mitt said he not perceive it was because John Lauber was homosexual that he was pranked.

I am against sloppy reporting and/or fabrication by the media and the Washington Post has been caught with its misreporting of Stu White. How can the story now be trusted.

If it ever happened.

Remove the misquote that you did. I don’t want others reading that without reading my real post and thinking that those are my views.

Against forum rules.

Let me get this straight…
  1. The Post never sourced their contention that anyone ever presumed the boy was gay
  2. Romney denies knowing the boy was gay
  3. The Christian response is “benefit of the doubt”
And… you choose to assume homophobic intent?

But weeeeeeeeeee’re being unChristian… gotcha.

Don’t forget - some of you are being Republican before being Christian.

Huh? It was done because of my religion…

I do assume homophobic intent. You’re right about that. I’m entitled to that. Just as you’re entitled to believe that there wasn’t homophobic intent. But we do still have bullying behavior.

But Obama does admit to eating a dog.

Was this an isolated incident on Romney’s part, or is there evidence of a pattern of behavior in which he often bullied students he perceived to be homosexual, or for any other reason?

Is this seriously supposed to be a religious forum with views like this?

As for the issue at hand, it’s very disappointing that these are the past actions of people running for our highest office. Romney wasn’t getting my vote anyway, but if I had been planning on voting for him, this would make me stop and think. My friends and I never did anything like this in high school.
Yes, that’s a good point. I wasn’t going to vote for Romney, but I was glad that he ended up as the candidate versus the other candidates, because Romney seemed like a pretty decent person. Most of the other candidates were just awful and six months of having to hear about what Gingrich or Santorum said or did would have been horrible. But now this is a real character issue with Romney. Leading a gang as a senior in high school to assault someone, tormenting the victim til he wept and screamed for help. This didn’t happen in my high school either, and anything close stopped around 8th grade. Makes you wonder about Romney’s sense of entitlement or superiority.

About some of the cruel, uncharitable and deceptive posts on this thread, I will leave that to the mods. Still, not what you would expect on a forum that’s meant to be based on Catholicism.

He was served it as child in a region where it was accepted. Bullying someone at age seventeen or eighteen is completely different. And five people are corroborating the story. Whatever. I have to go and meet some friends. I’m not going to argue this any longer right now. I’m too disheartened.
