i gave up watching chris matthews long ago. he just isn’t worth watching nor is the aggravation worth it from watching him and listening to him.
i think for a time i could tolerate him. i wasn’t a regular viewer of his show, but now i cannot stand to watch him. i can only imagine when the campaign season heats up these last couple of months before the election what he will be saying about romney and ryan.
I watched Chris Matthews…ONCE. That was more than enough for me. There are a ton of these opinion people that I just have no interest in. I used to like Hannity years ago in NYC when he had his radio show. He had a person from the left and right of each issue and there was actual intelligent debate. People spoke calmly to each other and listened to the other side before responding. Then he found out he could make more money shouting over people and playing to one side and I lost interest. By the time he got his TV gig it was even worse. Don’t even get me started on Olberman-he should have stayed at ESPN and talked sports, although he was kind of annoying there too. I used to go to Church with Neil Cavuto when I lived up North, and he’s a nice guy with a nice family-but his show became more about a single bias than simply information too over time.

The thing is-that’s what most people want. The MSNBC people want their shows to repeat the left leaning opinions that they already have, and the Fox people want their shows to repeat the right leaning opinions that they already have. That’s why these networks have succeeded. Rush Limbaugh became the success that he is because he was the first to figure out that there was a group of people that felt their opinions were underserved in the media and he made himself their voice.

Touching Story of Oparowskis and Mitt Romney

youtube.com/watch?v=-YJGUbBmB94
these stories have brought me to tears this morning as i am watching them. they are showing Mitt Romney to be such a compassionate and caring friend. not just a politician.
they are showing who Mitt Romney the man is. i agree that we would be very blessed as a country to have him as our president.

Miners say they were told to go to GOP rally

post-gazette.com/stories/news/politics-national/miners-say-they-were-told-to-go-to-gop-rally-651262/
Workers at a private coal company owned by a major Republican donor are complaining they were directed to attend a Mitt Romney rally in Beallsville, Ohio, earlier this month.
Miners in work clothes stood behind the Republican presidential nominee as he blasted Mr. Obama’s coal policies that day.
The coal firm’s executive vice president, Rob Moore, responded to the claims on Mr. Blomquist’s show on Monday.** “Attendance at the Romney event was mandatory but no one was forced to attend,” **Mr. Moore said. “… There were no consequences or repercussions taken against any employee who did not attend the Romney event.”
Pressed on why workers had to miss a day’s pay to attend, Mr. Moore said if miners consider “how critical it is that we get someone in [the president’s] office that supports coal, to give up eight hours for a career, I just don’t believe there is anything negative about that.”
The Romney campaign referred questions to Murray Energy.
In a battleground state like PA this is not a good headline.

Romney to Visit Areas Damaged By Hurricane Isaac
In a last-minute change of plans, Mitt Romney will head to visit storm-affected areas in New Orleans today, skipping a previously scheduled joint rally with running mate Paul Ryan in the battleground state of Virginia this afternoon.
A Romney aide told ABC News that Romney will “join Gov. Jindal and will meet with first responders, thank them for their work and see areas impacted by the storm in LaFitte, La.”

Good move, for many reasons. If he wins, this will give Romney a heads-up on handling similar situations in the future. Also, it allows those affected by the hurricane to voice their concerns directly with the one who is in the best position to help. And it demonstrates the concern Romney will display for the unfortunate when he’s president.

I saw that story too. It’s amazing how some employers act like they own people. A person has no right to dictate which candidate I support, far less to demand that support without paying me for my time! That is just serfdom, plain and simple.
Does that include the same kind of demand from unions toward the Dems?

Funny I didn’t hear the Left complaining about all those teacher being bussed in to protest Scott Walker
Funny, I don’t recall that being mandatory. Unless the superintendent or school board told them they had to appear without pay, the two situations have no relation to each other.

If a union makes attendance at a political rally mandatory for its members, that would raise my eyebrows, but since they don’t write their paychecks, I hardly think anyone would feel forced to attend out of fear for their jobs. Regardless, ANY employer forcing employees to support a particular party/candidate by using the power of the paycheck, is, in my opinion, acting immorally. You can’t own people’s minds, no matter what your relationship with them.

Having been a union member I can tell you that no such DEMAND would ever be made. Might a union ask members to attend a particular rally…absolutely…and there would likely be some sort of compensation.

BTW, the union is already asking for an investigation of this incident.

View it as you wish, I can tell you that it won’t play well even among conservatives in Western PA.

The hipocracy on the left is stunning…
So, I guess it’s okay to force people, without pay, to attend a political rally and stand behind a candidate you may not support?

The owner used his employees to try to give the impression that they supported Romney.

Actually, the very notion is laughable. Any union I was ever in would have heard some rather profane responses to any such demand.

can someone please tell me, without any slant, why it is that I’m being told that Romney is against women’s rights?

The short answer is that the Obama campaign has decided that the only way Obama is going to win this election is for them to sew fear, uncertainty and doubt about the challenger (Mitt Romney.) So they are hitting him with everything in the hope that something sticks.
