If you google romney and planned parenthood, you can see that planned parenthood loathes him. Anyone that is loathed by planned parenthood gets a level of approbation in my book.

and mine too. abortion makes me sick to my stomach. someone said that we need to limit our people because “population crisis” is upon us (false) and I wanted to ask that person if we should limit HER then. How about being responsible? How about teens control themselves?
Eesh. A baby is the most precious thing in the world, there is nothing I would rather defend and protect. What a sick society that views it as the “norm” to “eliminate hassle”.

Romney Opposes Pro-Abortion “Health of the Mother” Exception

Of course, it was a LifeNews article posted by Abbysinia. However, if the article is true, this election is all but over.

Which is pretty much the only source accepted here at CAF…

If you use that logic, you paid for the car of anyone who works for any company you’ve done business with and thus have supported the cause of every employee in that business. You’ve bought a product or service, paid their salary and then they used their money according to their values.

Better be careful to investigate the value systems of everyone on your personal “food chain” there might be an Obama sticker on one of their cars too!
this is my original post
in my union his car is paid for by the local ,that means i paid for it
.my local union officials like most in the trade unions, and most unions i know of drive cars for union business that the local paid for meaning me paid for .they are not owned by the business agent they are owned by the local.

I’m no expert, which is why I have to ask these things! A girl in my class told me she’s not voting for either Romney or Obama because neither of them have anything she likes. That aside, however, she says Romney would get her vote if he wasn’t pro-life, and if he didn’t keep changing statements.
Is this an accurate statement? Has he said different things on the same topic, particularly as regards Planned Parenthood?
Romney has done a lot of flip-flopping in his day, yes.

What do you mean?

If you accuse of Romney of flip flopping on abortion then you may accuse every person that has changed their position on abortion of being a flip flopper; former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson, former abortionist Bernard Nathanson, Norma McCorvey, roe of roe v wade etc

Do you think they are flip floppers?

So he is for it in rape and incest. Not to make light of these cases in any way, but that is a pretty small percentage of the total. Perfect? Absolutely not. Orders of magnitude better than the President? Yup.
Whether Romney thinks abortion should be legal in cases of rape and incest or whether he believes it would be illegal for all abortion has no effect on the fact that he wants roe vs wade to be repealed, and would elect the supreme court in line with those views. If states get to decide, Romney’s personal views on whether abortion should be legal in cases of rape and incest will have no effect

Rasmussen is showing a 5 point bounce for Romney today:

As expected, Romney is enjoying a modest bounce from the past week’s Republican National Convention. He trailed the president by two when the convention began and is up by three today. See daily tracking history. He also has gained ground in the swing state tracking results updated daily for subscribers at 10:00 a.m. Eastern.

rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

Survey USA** polled Florida voters and is also showing a bounce there:**

1,211 adults were interviewed statewide 08/31/12, after Romney, Florida’s Marco Rubio and Clint Eastwood spoke to the convention 08/30/12. Of the adults, 1,100 were registered to vote in Florida. Of the registered voters, 754 heard the convention speeches. Of the convention speech watchers:

*** **66% did not change their mind.
*** **16% switched from “undecided” to Romney.
*** **6% switched from Obama to Romney.
*** **Adding those 2 together, that’s 22% who switched TO Romney.
*** **10% switched from “undecided” to Obama.
*** **2% switched from Romney to Obama.
*** **Adding those 2 together, that’s 12% who switched TO Obama.
*** **Comparing the 2 aggregate numbers: 22% switched TO Romney, 12% switched TO Obama.

Absolutely true.

It’s actually smaller than I expected. With the Democrats last to bat, I doubt that the Romney camp is thrilled with this.

From what I understand, the polls don’t really reflect the last day of the convention and we’ll have to wait until Monday for an idea of the real “bounce” from the convention. But I think either way, the election will be close and will hinge on the debates as well as any economic news/new job numbers, etc.

Mitt Romney Didn’t Pick Condoleezza Rice To Be VP Because She Is Pro choice & Supports Same Sex Civil Unions

I suppose Romney had to make a tough political calculation. We’ll see how it all turns out; but I think he might have garnered more independent voters, as well as women and minorities, if he had chosen Condi Rice. Of course, he might also have lost too much of his conservative base. I don’t know. It would have been an even more gutsy choice than Ryan, however.

Ryan is undeniably a bright guy. That being said, he comes from a relatively small state, is not nearly as well known as Ms. Rice, and has some political baggage that will definitely be exploited.

As you said, we’ll have to see how it turns out.

Of course it is. It could have been a 100 point bounce and you’d say it was less than you expected.

Somehow, you deride his speech, and most of the convention, claim it isn’t going to have much effect the night he gives his speesh, and yet, pretend the 5 point bounce is less than you expected.

The actual bounce or non-bounce won;t show up for a couple, especially in the running multiday polls.
