  • You said Romney is too stupid to be an effective preisdent, Bush was dumb, Romney is a tax evader, McCain wasn’t bright. Can you provide a link for any of this? Or was your entire post written you get written to simply deride conservatives? How bright is Obama? Oh right, we have no college records…
Regardless of how smart any President is, they’ve achieved being elected to the Presidency, whereas you have achieved posting childish, anonymous insults on the Internet. I’d say they are doing fine, relatively speaking.
I’ve been hearing the “Republicans are stoopid” charge since the 1980 Presidential election.

Reagan was portrayed as the “dumb cowboy”, “B actor to C president” and an “idiot who shouldn’t be near the nuclear trigger”.

That charge is about as fresh as a Foghat concert. Interesting to note that GWB and polymath John Friggin Kerry had close to identical grades (with GWB having slightly better) at Yale.

Politics:eek:.I have heard enough of the finger pointing, criticisms and anger.
I will just now wait for the debates and then the results.
I will then hope and pray,President Obama or Mr.Romney our leader, when his time is up,
will leave our Country and its citizens safer and better off.
Peace to all ,Carlan 🙂
So you’re not going to back up your accusations with examples/facts? That’s too bad - I was interestedin hearing real examples of how the Tea Party is full of hate and vitriol.

To be fair, Reagan was a B actor at best! He was a much better President than actor.

Then what is your alternative to Romney or Obama? Stay home?
I understand that we may be forced to vote for Romney, however this doesn’t mean as Catholics we should actively campaign for this guy or have a picture of him above our mantle.

The real Mitt Romney: Beck itnerviews people whose lives have been touched by the gop nominee
On Friday evening, Glenn Beck interviewed people from Mitt Romney’s past, including the Nixon family, who were comforted by the Republican presidential nominee following a horrific car accident that left two of its members quadriplegics. Also on the set was Bryce Clark, a man mentored by Romney, Ken Smith, a former director for a Boston shelter for homeless veterans, and Reed Fisher, whose home was damaged by wildfires.
One of the common criticisms leveled against Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is that he almost comes across as being “too” put-together and restrained when it comes to showing emotion. While Ann Romney has provided much warmth and been a good focal point for campaign-watchers seeking insight into the softer-side of her husband, those whose lives have been touched and changed for the better by the GOP nominee are speaking out to share their personal stories of compassion, comfort and support.
Unlike the president, whose critics often cite the unusual nature of his seeming lack of friends, peers, colleagues and girlfriends from the past, Romney’s life appears to have been full of personal connections with everyday people who remember him fondly.
In Beck’s Dallas studio, they shared their very personal stories about Romney, painting a poignant and human picture of the presidential candidate. These are their stories.

No one is “forcing” you to vote for Romney, nor do any of us have his picture of him above our mantel. There are many of us who do believe he is the best choice between the two men who are candidates for the two major parties. One of those two men will be in the White House come January. I would like it to be the better of the two.

I have no doubt Romney has had personal friends and professional acquaintances whose lives were benefited by his kindness and generosity, as have most people, including Obama and GWB. And I’m sure Romney has had his share of people whom he has hurt either intentionally or unintentionally. Both he and Obama share an appearance of aloofness, which does not necessarily reflect their core personality. Most of us are neither saint nor demon and fall somewhere on a scale of goodness between Mother Teresa and Hitler. So what does this mean? There are probably other attributes more essential to being an effective leader and POTUS.

Exactly so. That’s my plan. I can’t vote for pro-abortion Obama nor for rich men’s tool, Romney.
I think the case for Obama being pro-abortion is much more verifiable and legitimate than the case for calling Romney " a tool of the rich" - which is basically hyperbole and seems like a mere excuse made to not vote for him. Bottom line - Romney has a set of policies that many conservatives think is our best chance to return to fiscal sanity and get the economy moving again. You may disagree with those policies but calling him a “tool of the rich” is an ad hominem. Obama has demonstrated in the last four years clearly what policy on abortion is.

You’re right, Ishii. GWB was a tool of the neo-cons; Romney, on the other hand, is not a tool of the rich, he’s the manager!

I don’t doubt that Romney whom I have a hard time believing to be a conservative is your choice, but do vote your consciences for him.

I certainly do disagree with his proposed policies, and for whatever reason, I shall not vote for him.

Polls often make Obama look more popular than he is. In some cases, pollsters use a sample of voters more appropriate for 2008 than 2012. “I do believe pollsters are being cautious about turnout models,” a conservative pollster said. “They are skewing towards a 2008 turnout model rather than something normal, which helps Obama’s numbers. I also think there are just a slight number of folks who say they are voting Obama, but really not. Maybe 1 or 2 percent.”
One practice that aids Obama and Democrats is heavy reliance on cell phone interviews, a pollster told me. “If they’re getting 30 percent of their responses from cell phone interviews,” as some pollsters do, that “may skew their responses to a more D-leaning audience.” This pollster does 20 percent cell phone interviews and last week had Romney leading Obama, 48-to-47 percent.

But I have. It’s called “pro-bono” in my line of work.
Really? YOU don’t get paid or your firm doesn’t get paid?

I’m afraid you would be out of business if pro bono was you entire line of work.

We all volunteer for charities - pro bono. But we need to get paid to live.

Under Obama, more and more people have left the private sector as wage provider for government “wages.” Not good at all.

We will implode like Greece, Spain, and the others.

You need to get out and vote for Romney so we can fire Obama. I won’t be hodling my nose either. The more I find out about Mitt and his personal committment for the common good, and his many kind deeds, the more I like him. I will be dismayed when the haters gang up on him, though.

You are voting for neither - but you’re admitting that the reason you won’t vote for Obama is because he’s pro-abortion, yet you won’t vote for Romney because you disagree with his economic policy proposals. The two are not morally equivalent - the former is a non-negotiable. The latter is a disagreement as to how best to help the economy/fiscal situation. Yet you lumped them together as if they are of equal moral weight, and that is where you’re wrong. Calling Romney a “tool of the rich” does not diminish Obama’s pro-abortion policy and the necessity of opposing him effectively instead of sitting on your hands. The sanctity of life is non-negotiable, whereas honest good Catholics can disagree on what the best economic policy is (ie. Romney’s or some other policy) and still be good Catholics.

Tool of the rich - that may be your opinion, but the reality is - Obama is pro-abortion and has proven that he will aggressively pursue a pro-abortion policy. The DNC could well be called “the abortion rights convention”. Not sure why you’re bringing up Bush but I guess that’s what all Obama supporters have to do now.
