Last I checked, God made me gay. And there’s no changing that.
A 1000 years from now, providing humanity is still here, they are going to shake their heads about our times the way we shook ours about throwing witches in a lake to see if they sink.

You have a cross, and in its totally it is from God’s will that you have this cross, but God doesn’t make disordered attractions. You are not gay but a person fighting SSA at this time in your life as we all fight different temptations and sins. Keep up the good fight and may chastity be your guide!

That doesn’t actually contradict
Fine, do you need more from the same document? Note the statement about homosexual inclinations not necessary being of freewill. If you have no freewill on a topic it intrinsically means you were made that way:

While the Church teaches that homosexual acts are immoral, she does distinguish between engaging in homosexual acts and having a homosexual inclination. While the former is always objectively sinful, the latter is not. To the extent that a homosexual tendency or inclination is not subject to one’s free will, one is not morally culpable for that tendency. Although one would be morally culpable if one were voluntarily to entertain homosexual temptations or to choose to act on them, simply having the tendency is not a sin. Consequently, the Church does not teach that the experience of homosexual attraction is in itself sinful.

Not everything the Catholic church declares to be gravely disordered or intrinsically evil has been treated the same way in our society that same sex attraction has. When’s the last time you heard of someone being beaten, tortured, tied to a fence, and dying days later on account of their using birth control, the way Matthew Shepard was for being gay? When have you heard of a mass murderer targeting a group of divorced people the way that the gay patrons of the Pulse nightclub were targeted? Have you never heard guys at a bar making anti-gay comments, and then bragging about the girl they took home and slept with the night before, as if fornication was somehow okay?

Really it’s something only God would know.

I don’t understand the incident about Santa.

Christian have been shot too and the shooting at the Jewish synagogue too. Your can find anti anything comments anywhere.

Oh really? Are you taking the position that I chose to have SSA?

This I totally disagree with. God doesn’t make gay…
I totally disagree with that. It is strange to hear people that are not gay explain how gays are not born that way. When you go to the trouble of getting to know a gay person, they will tell you, at least I have been told, that they never did choose that and never would.
Strange indeed.

Some conservative Christians even today say “they chose it.”

But, my question for them is: How old were you when you chose opposite-sex attraction, and what made you want to choose it? And I’ve never gotten a sensible answer.

So what makes them so sure gays “chose it,” when they never chose what they have?

With respect to gays and sporting events, I can see some motivation for teams to support pride events, in that the kinds of people who follow sports have not always been the most gay-friendly bunch in the past. By that I don’t mean a moral disagreement, I mean creating an actual physically unsafe or bullying atmosphere. So I think the idea is to show that it’s safe for a segment of the population to come out to the games and have a good time, and that they won’t get verbally abused or beaten up by drunks while doing so.
Perfect.

I know the type.

Insecure young men who have to “prove” their “masculinity” to others by showing how much they hate gays.

Promoting acceptance of gay people is not the same as “promoting homosexuality” in the sense that one would promote a make of automobile or a brand of ice cream. Worrying that celebrating civil equality for gays is going to convince some straight people to become gay is like worrying that celebrating racial equality is going to convince some white people to become black.
Yeah, really.

I’m sure young men or boys (who don’t have SSA) who go to the event during “Pride Night” are going to say, “Hey, this gay stuff sounds like a lot of fun! I think I’m going to check this out!”

I think straight people who worry about the possibility of a straight person finding homosexuality tempting are saying more about themselves than they realize.

I think you need to be a little careful. Eventually, you’ll have to boycott everything. From little league to MLB to going to the movie, to going to a park on Friday night.

I think you’re on to something.

Some of the biggest gay-bashers (not posters on this board) have turned out to be gay themselves.

There’s always the story of the guy who was the biggest gay-basher in high school. After graduation another gay guy went to a gay bar in town and guess who was in there.

Yes - deeply closeted self-loathing homosexuals can be some of the most viciously homophobic people out there. Don’t forget Ted Haggard, the anti-gay pastor in Colorado who eventually admitted to paying a male prostitute for sex over a three year period.

Yeah, because choosing to bear a heavier cross than most is certainly fun.

God not making them that way doesn’t equate to them choosing it.

So the only other position would be that it was chosen, which I can tell you it wasn’t
