Consider this:Be careful not to let religious fanaticism cause you to imagine things. Although this lady has beliefs that differ from yours, she can’t be bad if she has taught her sons to respect and cater to her. Most parents would give their eye teeth to learn how to earn the same respect from their sons.
I don’t believe God will judge anyone by the “flag” they stand under. He’s more likely to judge them by the light that literally exudes from their bodies as a result of the incredible kindness, courtesy, caring, respect, decency, and love they have shown for others.
Although many religions condemn others (basically in order to stem competition) in my eyes, the bible are about nothing other than the display of the above qualities to others.
Forget that the woman is Wiccan and be especially cautious that you aren’t imagining terrible things about a person who is truly beautiful inside. If she gave you a basket of goodies from her own religion, she meant to show you love and kindness, just as you would’ve meant if you had offered her a prayer from your religion.
While she obviously meant well, she may not have realized that the offer might have been perceived as an attempt to convert you. Don’t worry about attempts to convert you. If your beliefs are strong you never need to feel threatened by such attempts.
Christianity is best promoted by showing love and respect for others. Little can be achieved by showing disdain, disrespect, or fear. Jesus himself was aware of that when he chose to show kindness to even those he felt were sinners by inviting them to his table. What an incredible guy!
2nd Corinthians, Chapter 11
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
I hope all will think about this and pray for discernment. Even the name Lucifer means “Light Bearer” and “Morning Star”.
Perhaps you think Paganism is not Satanism. Regardless, it is clearly in the Bible that we can be fooled by light that doesn’t necessarily come from God.
Also, keep in mind that these men who she calls “sons” already have mothers and are, in fact, not her sons at all. She chooses to treat them as her sons and they have responded in kind, some seemingly more loyal to her than their own parents. This is according to what the OP has said. Ask yourself how you would feel if your own son did more for this woman than you and may be more loyal to her than to you and his father. It’s something to think about, in the very least, and not just dismiss as a kind “mother” doing a wonderful job. In the very least, the woman is a bit strange as is the situation.
Remember that when the Devil (the Angel of Light) came to Jesus and offered him many good things, he did not make friends with him because he was not deceived by his light.
