The only facts of wrong behavior we know of now is that both Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson lied. The bipartisan Senate Intelligence report said so.
It appears you have been getting the Republican talking points. But, unfortunately, that doesn’t mean its true. Do you like the grape flavored kool-aid?
- The vice president asked the CIA to investigate the Niger/ yellow cake connection. Since Joe Wilson was the former ambassador to both Iraq and Niger, it seemed only natural for the CIA to ask him to check with his contacts in both countries to see if the story was legitimate. The big lie has been presented that Cheney asked Wilson to check into this. Where can you reference Wilson saying Cheney asked him to check into this directly?
- The secret memo(send to AirForce1) which indicated Wilson’s wife was a secret agent also indicated the Niger/yellow cake connection had already been debunked, yet the President still mentions this as fact in the State of Union speech AFTER READING THIS MEMO!
- Check you facts. I believe you will find Wilson’s story was discredited by the Republicans only on the Senate Intelligence Committee, not the bipartisan report.
- The attacks on Joe Wilson are unfair. This is a man who has been a career diplomat serving his country well. Check his story out relating to how he stood up to Sadaam when he captured the american hostages prior to Gulf War in the 90’s. He became a target of the Republicans only on the lead up to the Iraqi war because he questioned some of the rational for the war. Therefore, he got the spin machine (Rove) focused on him and his wife.
I can agree we do not know all the facts relating to this story. But it is just wrong to blindly attack those who have questioned the Administration in relation to this war.(Sounds like a Clinton era tactic) It seems the administration wants it both ways. The intellegence community supposedly had it wrong about the WMD’s yet they worked furiously to discredit Wilson who said they (Iraq) were not actively trying to purchase the yellow cake.
Make sure you clean your face David Paul, the grape koolaid will leave stains.
