I could not find stats for last ten years in a spreedsheet or table.
 
You’ll have to figure in the number of children that would have died from other causes as well. Unfortunately, not all of those children would have made it to the first year of school or live long enough to graduate.

The large number of babies aborted every year is shocking and disturbing. However, this argument won’t go far if some other things aren’t added in.

This is perhaps the most bizarre pro-life argument I have ever heard “Stop abortion! It produces more children so more teachers are needed so more jobs are created…”

What about the statistics for currently qualified teachers who are currently unable to find a job? You need to factor that in also.
 
I am totally pro-life, but this arguement is not going to hold water and is silly. We should not abort or not abort children based on the job market, but based on the right of every human to have a chance to live.

This arguement is weird and not going to convince anyone.

wow that is alot of abortions…just think amongst those babies that were aborted one could have been destined to grow up and discover a cure for aids or cancer…or to do something to really make a difference to the world…
 
That logic is a little fuzzy, I’d say There are much better pro life arguments
 
The numbers may be a little fuzzy, but there can be no doubt that if there have been 40 million abortions since Roe v Wade, a lot more teachers would have been needed to educate all the children from K through College. Likewise, we would have been less reliant on immigrants to cross our borders for employment opportunities that would have gone to our own citizens that were aborted.

Would you like to briefly mention how you think this argument is going to convince anyone to change their views, unless they are perhaps aspiring to be a teacher in a market in which there aren’t enough children?

I know what the best argument is, but I see no reason why it’s relevant for you to ask me.

How about that it is a Human life with it’s own dignity and rights including the right to not be killed because it is inconvient, the wrong sex, or less than perfect.

Be kind and charitable. The point was not that this is the argument against abortion. The point was that this is another consequence of abortion. Don’t you get the difference? :confused:
 
I would hate to see that particular argument used outside a Catholic audience. It wouldn’t fly
 
Of course the primary ‘argument’ against abortion is that it kills new human beings.

That doesn’t mean that the continued killing of unborn children doesn’t have economic and social consequences. It does. The loss of millions of unborn children amounts to generational genocide. It result in accelerating depopulation, fewer workers to support social security and medicare, economic decline, and as noted above, fewer children in schools. In some countries such as China and India, selective abortion of girls leads to gender imbalances (quite aside from the fact of targeting girls for killing–something that ought to have feminists up in arms). China’s one child policy led to selective abortions of girls, and now to a shortage of girls for boys to marry.

Killing is evil in itself. Evil social consequences inevitably follow.
 
On this same kind of reasoning though. You may ask how many of the children that have been aborted may have grown up to do something great? Cure a disease? Become a saint? Feed the hungry?

You are over estimating the other causes of death to children in the US. Besides, I did take that into account by only going back 5 years rather than 13 years for K-12.

I do include them in the 200,000 pluse figure. They are out of work because there is not enough students. More students equals more money in budgets.

funny, I know many out of work teachers, it has turned to prolife in the past. And, they insist on adding up all 13 years rather than just 5 years of past abortions divided by 30 for class size then divided by 7 hour school day to account for variance in school days from K-12.

I agree, but there would have likely been a few bad apples in the bunch too. But, even bad apples can be reformed.

And, for the person who over estimates death by other causes for children in the US. I like to see your stats in a similar table.
