You are quite right of course; but one thing you should bear in mind is that the majority of the people who act in this way, and give the Catholic Church a bad name, are not true Catholics at all. They are Mormon apostates who have chosen Catholicism as a platform from which to launch attacks against Mormonism. But in reality they no more believe in Catholicism than they believe in Mormonism. They are a disgrace to Catholicism, and a blot on the character and good name of the Catholic Church. True Catholics are pretty decent and dignified individuals like yourself, and they are outraged by their kind of behavior. So bear in mind that they are not true representatives of Catholicism at all. One shouldn’t judge Catholics by their actions.

If you came here expecting to find saints, you won’t. But you are right that you are not seeing the whole picture. zerinus - and his alter ego mesenja - has levied the worst kind of insults, has talked against the Pope, and refused to have any kind of discussion unless he has set the groud rules and that includes reading ‘lectures’ at his blog. There are a few threads that he has been on - one got closed - check them out before you pass judgement on us.

As to Zerinus: he is rude, obstinate and puts his theological foot in his mouth everyother posting. You will notice that some get frustrated with his poor attempts at deflecting DIRECT questions concerning his assertions about the Faith. (You do know what ‘Faith’ I am referring to, right?)

The attacks are on his method and not on his person.

He has never once been called anything other than something that reflects his online behavior and words.

If that is rude to tell someone that he is rude, then, you truly do not have much experience on these threads.

Most of us are good with keeping it charitable and civil.

The frustration comes from the posters who want a soapbox to berate Catholics/Christians/Protestants/Believers.

There are soi-disant ‘atheists’ posting as well as poor souls who only seek to ‘hit and run’ through the threads.

To answer your questions, no I’m not an LDS member. No, I have never been an LDS member.

As I stated, I’m a Catholic.

I have always been a Catholic.

I was Baptized in the Diocese of Rockville Center.

I had First Holy Communion and was Confirmed at St. Matthews Parish on Long Island.

I either attend St. Matthews or St. Cyrils and Methodius parish in Deer Park, Long Island, NY.

I refer to members of the LDS church as such because I have been told by members that they prefer that term.

Whether Zerinus is rude or not (from my point of view) is irrelevant to the behavior of people who are not Zerinus. Poor behavior is not a sanction to engage in further poor behavior.

I’m not looking for a debate. You are free to agree with my assessment of the tonality of the thread or not.
