Yes, just like Mormons venerate the statue of Moroni.Ok I understand that!I think our hang-up is that I am saying that the respects paid to a statue, whether itâs lighting a candle, placing flowers in front of, etc. are called veneration, and believe me, I understand that you donât worship statues, or believe that itâs possessed (like the Hindu belief of prana pratishtha). So I wasnât saying that Catholics venerate statues because that veneration ends with the statue. The respects (veneration) paid to the images are meant to signify the veneration of the saint, Mary, God, etc, not the statue only.
