I don’t know why anyone would have a problem with their daughter joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The National Conference of Jews and Christians in remarking on the anti-Mormon film the Godmakers expresses my views regarding the caricatures built up in the minds of a lot of people regarding the LDS religion: “The film does not - in our opinion - fairly portray the Mormon Church, Mormon history, or Mormon belief. It makes extensive use of ‘half-truth’, faulty generalizations, erroneous interpretations, and sensationalism. It is not reflective of the genuine spirit of the Mormon faith.”
Jesus came, and his Word is superior to that in the Old Testament. Jesus clearly taught one husband and ONE wife.
Polygamy was never right in his eyes, nor will it ever be.
Adam and Eve were made for eachother.
The God that is Jesus and the Holy Spirit ,that of Abraham and Isaac is not the same of the LDS church.
Heaven is for everyone, the one Heaven where we will all be in the presence of the ONE God.
Catholics, Protestants, LDS and Jews, everyone.
I love the LDS people, but their God is not my God. My God is everliving and All-Powerful and All-Forgiving.
When Jesus died on the cross he opened the gates of Heaven, for all people.
There is no need for a Temple-marriage and there is no need for a woman to be sealed to her husband. Salvation is free, all of the talk about sealings, and the three levels of heaven and polygamy those are all things that Joseph Smith made up and taught.
You will find nothing in the Bible, or in the early history of the Catholic Church, even inthe religions that branched off of the Catholic church of LDS doctrine. It’s no where.
So someone who knows the fullness and Truth of the One God have a problem with their daughter giving that up to live something that is completely man-made? Yes, that is a big problem.
Yes. I almost joined the LDS church and my family acted the same way. I didn’t understand what was so wrong with what they believed and how could they prove it isn’t ture.
Well, after a very convincing message from the Holy spirit I studied. I studied early church history of both LDS and Catholicsm. Believe me when I started studying it was still with the intent to join the LDS church, my boyfriend is LDS and I wanted to be with him. Only after my studying and much to my dismay I realized that the LDS church was not the church that christ founded. Everything pointed to the Catholic Church.
And I was shocked with what lds people actually believe, they try and cover it up in missionary meetings(yes I took the discussions) and even in their own doctrines. But they can’t hide from people who actually take the time to study.
I have no problem with lds people at all, they hold a special place in my heart. Many many many people in my life that I love are LDS and I have no problem being around them and even doing church activities with them. But I do pray for them, and I hope that they discover a God that is all-loving and does not make you earn that love and salvation that is so lovingly gave to all people.
LDS people, I will see you in Heaven. The one Heaven, in the grace of our Lord, the one and only.
