Momblessed:
If I may say so, I think this thread has outlived its purpose.
You know what CTR means and you don’t have objections to the inherent message, just the religious stigma that accompanies it. I perfectly understand that.
It’s just best if you politely return the rings to your mother in-law and request that she not send any LDS related items to your children. Let her know that you’ve done your best to be as tolerant as possible, however her insistence to disobey your wishes is putting a strain on your relationship with her which can (and likely will) reflect on the relationship she has with her grandchildren.
I highly doubt she bought these gifts with malice in mind so just remember to be polite and civil, just like you are here
Evangelism in Mormonism is much stronger than in Catholicism so part of this will just have to be chalked up to a personality trait. This is just how your mother-in-law is, and remember she’s likely not doing it
in spite of you. I’m sure there’s a nice happy medium you two could reach if you would only talk to HER like you’re talking to us.
Best of luck and remember to pray.
