Why is he blocking consideration of House legislation:
  • legislation requiring presidential campaigns to report to the FBI any offers of assistance from agents of foreign governments
  • a bill that would require campaigns to report to the FBI contributions by foreign nationals.
  • bipartisan legislation protecting lawmakers from foreign cyberattacks
  • the Securing America’s Federal Elections Act, passed by the House, directing $600 million in election assistance to states and requiring backup paper ballots
  • a bipartisan bill requiring Facebook, Google and other Internet companies to disclose purchasers of political ads, to identify foreign influence
  • a bipartisan bill to ease cooperation between state election officials and federal intelligence agencies
  • a bipartisan bill imposing sanctions on any entity that attacks a U.S. election
  • a bipartisan bill with severe new sanctions on Russia for its cybercrimes
???
Why oppose this?

Joe Scarborough is a whiner. I’ll never believe any thing he says.

Fake news. The only reason so many people are going after Russia is because they oppose the LBGTEFG agenda. Heaven forbid that a superpower oppose this sacred way of life.

What on earth does that have to do with our elections and the proposed legislation? How do any of the matters addressed in the House legislation affect the "LBGTEFG " agenda?

If this would have been the UK, France, Germany or any other left leaning country that supposably interfered with our elections this would not be even talked about today. Ever since Russia had put restrictions on what the LGBTEFG could do in their country, the social media has been dumping into the “news” stream any little story about Russia that spins their country in a negative light.

What ticks me off even more is that the US had finally overcome the cold war, some form of peace was finally taking place and we as a nation squandered the opportunity. First, the conservatives made tensions cool again by not extending an olive branch to Russia and being suspicious of everything they did and then (after the LGBTEFG crackdown) the liberals are doing their character assassinations of anyone who oppose the LGBTEFG agenda which is what Russia is doing.

We want peace, we want to live decent lives doing G-d’s will and worshipping Him. We are all created by Him and He has given us guidelines to live a peaceful life. Try following them, you’ll find you might like them.

PS you and many others put too much faith in man and not enough in G-d. You are like the blind men touching the elephant. You each have your strong opinions of what it is but in actuality you have no clue. Work for peace not division!!!
I agree, unfortunately, election interfering goes around. We did in Nigeria and in Israel.

Election interference needs to be something more than facebook posts for me. A tempest in teacup. Let’s see some real beef on these charges.

That said, any election interference by a foreign power should be taken seriously.

Oh, take google’s word? Isn’t that the beast itself as well?

The interference was sweeping and massive. This according to beopth the Mueller and the Senate Intelligence Committee report. It was, and is, an attack on our nation. It is difficult to imagine that founding NATO allies like would carry out such a campaign. But if they had, I would expect at response.

Read the reports. It is much, much more.
There idea of backup paraper ballots and insuring the integrity of registration records should give insight into the fact that there is something more than facebook posts.

By Stephen Dinan - The Washington Times - Tuesday, July 12, 2016

The State Department paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayers grants to an Israeli group that used the money to build a campaign to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in last year’s Israeli parliamentary elections, a congressional investigation concluded Tuesday.

Some $350,000 was sent to OneVoice, ostensibly to support the group’s efforts to back Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement negotiations. But OneVoice used the money to build a voter database, train activists and hire a political consulting firm with ties to President Obama’s campaign — all of which set the stage for an anti-Netanyahu campaign, the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations said in a bipartisan staff report.

In one stunning finding, the subcommittee said OneVoice even told the State Department’s top diplomat in Jerusalem of its plans in an email, but the official, Consul General Michael Ratney, claims never to have seen them.
It’s kind of like spying, we spy, they spy, even Canada has spies, I read some article about one of them the other day.

  1. The Times article is fake, and the reality of those events have been discussed many times. If you are interested in an accurate account, the search engine here should suffice.
  2. The matter is more serious than you seem willing to admit. Diligence in the defense of liberty is crucial ot our nation.
In the past 36 hours, former Special Counsel Robert Mueller emphasized that Russia is still working diligently to meddle in U.S. elections, FBI Director Christopher Wray warned that Russia and other foreign adversaries are finding new ways to exploit U.S. election vulnerabilities, and the Senate Intelligence Committee released a bipartisan report that found Russia had targeted all 50 states in 2016 and “top election vulnerabilities remained” in the 2018 elections and continue to this day, though progress has been made.
Diligence in the defense of liberty is crucial ot our nation.

Yes, as far as I’m concerned there exists
Apprently you are not reading the Mueller report, the Senate Intelligence report, or the Wray’s testimony. Sad.
Apparently Mueller didn’t read the Mueller report. A key part of Russian attempts to influence our republic’s election process was the dossier, and he doesn’t know about its producer.

That might be what Alex Jones would have you believe, but there is no foundation for it.

Bill Kristol, Weekly Standard nosedives and goes out of business, exponent for the Iraq war. Sure, I really treasure his word.

His testimony on Capitol Hill is grounds. I don’t value what Alex Jones says anymore than what George Stephanopoulos says, but Mueller was rather unconvincing.
