Khalfan,

Your response was completely irrelevant to what I said. I don’t know whether or not you agree with the common argument I brought up, but I have frequently heard other Muslims use it despite its inconsistency.

You can’t be that blind to the evidence I have given in Post no. 9, can you?
I guess I am that blind! 😃

Frankly I have difficulty with cut-and-paste posts which is ironically enough why I find the Quran a shoddy plagerism of Jewish and Christian texts at best.

Is there documentary evidence dated before the canonization of the Bible showing corruption (not issues of translation, but a true corruption)? If so why has this document(s) not been produced? If you are going to say something changed you need to be able to go from point A to point B. Muslims like to claim point C is before A and therfor B is corrupt. First century scrolls show no corruption so…

Quran wasn’t revealed to be preserved in any book but in peoples memory. Since the time of Prophet (pbuh) it people use to memorise the Quran and even today people do keep it in mind more than the do it in a book, becasue that is how it is supposed to be preserved. It is a promise of God and he have his own way to fulfill that.

He doesn’t understand/care. He’s just committed to pushing the same Islamic line about the Bible, and all the time quoting from it, proving it has AUTHORITY

I love it! You quote the bible to tell us the bible is corrupt!🤷
It shows how far gone Islamic thinking is from logic.

Unable to get his head around this Khalfan just continues to keep quoting from it.

It’s like he’s on autopilot

Why do you always want a fight between us Montalban? Can’t we discuss anything peacefully?
Do you see me calling for your blood?
I just have only one condition, be true to your belief and words. Be honest at least with faith. Did I say there no word of god in the Bible? I said,

*1) ‘Injeel’ as it is.
  1. Gospel of God, explanations by Jesus, interpretations of disciples, interpolations of later editors as a whole.*
So what? Answer my challenge. Give me the definitive list of verses that are still inspired

The problem is, I don’t keep it in my pocket. But there are some CHRISTIAN scholars who is supposed to provide the evidence for those additions and removals. Why don’t you get to them since it’s your faith hanging on the rope? The scholars worked behind NIV version is supposed to give you the evidence for the comment,

((The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20.))

The scholars worked behind RSV, NIV, NASB, GWT, ASV,BBE, DBY, WEY, WEB etc. si supposed to give you the evidence for the removal of trinity concept from 1 John 5:7. Go, get them.

It really doesn’t matter to me. These are going to be your beliefs regardless, but I was looking to discuss evidence. I’m more curious of whether or not you accept the common Muslim argument I mentioned in my first post.

You haven’t given any evidence for your arguement. 🙂

Don’t call it MY argument. I’d be ashamed to have come up with such a half-baked standard for reliability! The argument I mentioned is frequently used by a bunch of Muslims, and you knew this already. If you don’t want to tell us whether or not you agree with it, just come right out and say that. I’m almost thinking you may have used it yourself already a couple of times, and so you’re too ashamed to admit it.

The bible is true where it’s in agreement with the koran, where it isn’t, it’s ‘clearly’ corrupted.

I think that’s the muslim thought in a nut-shell.

It is. At least, where they interpret it to be in agreement with the Quran. Sometimes they will cite verses that mention the Holy Spirit, and claim it talks about Mohammed, etc.

Let’s go to your OP. You said,

Many times I will hear a Muslim say that they can’t trust anything in the Bible, because of the fact that none of the original texts remain to this day. Ironically, this same fact applies to the Quran as well but somehow they don’t find it a problem in that case.

I was asking the evidence for the underlined. 🙂

It is not the Bible is true, but the earlier scriptures that Bible books were developed, was true.

Have you got more literature on this? I’ve never heard this.

I don’t get this sentence. Could you explain please?

No evidence is needed, to prove a negative argument. But if you have any evidence on your part, you can try and disprove it. There is no original manuscript of any part of the Quran (the originals were written on separate pieces of whatever objects people could get a hold of at the time of each revelation) in existence today. If you find one that does exist, let me know.

On interpreting the Holy Spirit as Mohammed… I don’t know of any books that reference that particular argument, but start to look at a lot of Christian/Muslim “debates” or apologetics discussions and you will start to see it come up a few times on the Muslim side.

EDIT: search for the word “comforter” when you open this link and you will find a good example of this. You’ll never guess who it’s from! 😃
