Lets not forget that demons can enter their inferior minds if they dont wear a head covering in church!sure and that husbands can beat them![]()
Well, we’ve made war on two of their countries and there have been hundreds of hate attacks (including murders) against them in the USA alone. When we start burying them in the ground and stoning them to death then you can start equating.
Genisis 3: 16Loginus, the bible never said women are inferior to men.
It SAID…women are the weaker vessel.
These 2 things are very different. Just because you are slower in movement than your brother doesn’t make you more intelligent.
Youll have to excuse my ignorance as my taking of the bible is minimal but could you pt out book, chpt,vs thats says the previous arrangement was abolosihed?pro, if you wish I will link you to a site where you can watch an actually stoning. It takes over 10 minutes. Don’t watch before you eat. Muslims here are vastly freer and safer then Christians over there. Or would you like to come to Mass in Saudi Arabia with me?
Log, notice that is part of the curse. It was not how it was so in the beginning. We see in Christ the restoration of the fundamental equality of man and woman.
Reference plzHow about “in Christ there is neither male nor female.”
For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.Reference plz![]()
Why couldn’t Jesus take away the pain of childbirth when He died for us on the Cross?Genisis 3: 16
"To the woman he said "I will greatly increase your pains in child bearing: with pain you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you"
There’s many more examples if you’d like, but a bit busy at the moment (a)
That’s a good question. If the purpose of the crucifixion was to atone for original sin, or wash it away, as I’ve heard it described here, then why does man still have to toil to earn his bread and why does women still suffer the pains of childbirth? How can the sin be removed but the curse remain? Why couldn’t Jesus take away the pain of childbirth when He died for us on the Cross?

Ty, but I was hoping for something jesus himself said as opposed to what Paul wrote. ( I dont trust him!)For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free person, there is not male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28
Another great post as usualLonginus while I can’t off the top of my head think of a specific declaration by Christ on this issue, I can point out where Christ by his actions suggested he considered women on equal status with men.
First, there is the fact that he allowed female desciples (Lk 8: 1-5). Today this of course wouldn’t be a big deal in that day however, it was huge. By allowing their presence he was effectively saying that women could be educated and learn at the same level as men. Jesus was recognized as a teacher. In those days being educated was amongst the highest honors. Jesus not only implied by the acceptance of Mary (Magdalene), Suzzana and Joanna that he thought them worthy of instruction but more subtlely that he didn’t mind being seen in public discoursing with them. Men and women who were not related did not speak to each other publically in those days.
Another famous story would be his treatment of the prostitute. By saying that “Ye who are without sin cast the first stone” he declared that women and men share equally in guilt for sexual sins. This was revolutionary as the cultural assumption was that all sexual sin was the fault of the woman. Wow that was actually on topic. Anyway, as we can see by the story posted by the OP we can see that this view is still held today by many from that region.
Finally the first people that Jesus revealed himself too after his resurrection was women. I don’t know if these are the sort of thing that you were looking for but I hope it’s helpful.
Yaa, the Qur’an is pretty solid in itself. The Hadiths and Sunnahs can be, but they also contradict it. What I dont understand is in the case of contradictions, why some Muslims take the latter over the former. These Imams would rather follow the words of men than the words God. Never understood that one…Reading Rodrigos posts make me see how the Koran should have stood alone without these hadiths and sunnahs. Take the hadiths and sunnahs away, use only the Koran and you are left with much less temptation to deviate or misinterpret or twist Islam by an idividual Imam or leader to use improperly.
I know it cant be done. But it would really take away the inconsistancy that has developed as a result of no authourity to settle matters like this one for all Muslims to follow. Its not helpful to have so many different versions of Islam out there to follow. Its downright confusing.
Peace!
Well, how is it different than Catholics looking to the Church to interpet the bible? Of Jews looking to their rabbis?Yaa, the Qur’an is pretty solid in itself.
