I would think that the TLM in English would be a suitable meetpoint so that newer Catholics who love the N.O. Mass won’t be frightened by having to learn Latin, while the reverence and beauty of the liturgy and music of the TLM would be retained. In my mind, this is what the Vatican II reformers were after in the first place. This what I hope the MP will truly strive for.
I don’t know exactly what the reformers had in mind but I can read what they wrote. A Mass in any vulgar tongue would entirely defeat the purpose of the MP. Reverence isn’t the issue. We’ve learned translation committees just don’t work for one thing, except maybe for Spanish and Polish. Besides we would want to go anywhere in the world and pray with our fellow Catholics in the same Church and in the same Mass. Not everyone knows English or would even want to know it.

One other thing, music “of the TLM” is meant to be sung in Latin. Have you ever heard the Tantum Ergo sung in English? Horrible.
