The movie is absoultely amazing. It has such a pro-life message, but it isn’t cheesy at all. It’s very well-done and very powerful.

I watched it with a bunch of women and they were all crying. come to think of it, I was crying too.
There wasn’t much information about the movie in the article. I can’t wait until I can see it though. I definitely want to support such a movie so more will be made.

I hope that the directors make that movie about St. Miguel Pro though. I had to look him up because I had never heard of him. He was a priest who was martyred in Mexico, 1926.

This is one movie that I AM going to see AT THE THEATER. There have been few that I have actually paid to see for a very long time! (The Passion, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Narnia… not many others)

Just reading about the conversion experience of the main male character (who reminds me in looks of Jim Caviezel in a lot of ways, also Catholic) was interesting, but to think that THREE Catholic men have gotten together to do this film makes it even more intriguing. YouTube has two interviews that are good, also.

There are also two previews of the movie there.

I’m still very excited about seeing this movie. Thanks to all who posted above (especially those who have been privileged enough to see the film).

My wife and I just started a Catholic Christian podcast geared towards young adults, but all can listen if they’d like. For The first episode of The Perseverance Podcast, we put together a little montage of different articles and interviews floating around the internet about this movie.

God Bless,
Joshua

Eduardo’s Conversion Story

Two of my friends saw it on its initial tour. They loved it. Glad to hear it’s making it to the theaters.

I have heard many good things about this movie on Catholic
radio and I look forward to seeing it. I rarely go to the movies
but will see this one.👍

It is an amazing film, but it is kind of confusing at the beginning. I was able to see it at the National Right to Life Convention this summer in Kansas City. I was even able to talk to and get the autograph of the main actor, Eduardo Verástegui. He started out as a Mexican soap opera star, and so in Mexico he is famous. In the US he was going to join Hollywood, but was talking to his parish priest, and was changed by God. He was at an abortion clinic preparing for this movie (to see what it was like) and a pro-life lady there asked him to help her talk to woman about to get abortions. She didn’t know he wasn’t there to help her, but he helped anyway. He started talking to a mexican couple, and they realized who he was, and after talking to them, they decided against abortion, and later called him and told him about their child. It is a wonderful film. It is very pro-life and I cried to it. Yea, me the 19 year old guy. 😃

I sure hope this makes it to the local theaters. I read an article promoting it in one of the Catholic magazines recently, but I don’t think I have seen it elsewhere. Anyone know how to find out if it is going to make it to mainstream theaters?

Here is a post that was on the RosaryArmy Forums…

epicrecipe:
I saw a nice article about this in my print version of Columbia magazine. The KofC helped with financing and are promoting at councils all over the country. Evangelicals have a pretty tight knit promotion channels too. It’s great to see movies like this get traction (though not surprising).
I have Columbia magazine sitting at home on my kitchen table and I haven’t had a chance to go through it. I can’t wait to get home and read that article.

I usually catch it live on my computer, and there are Encores that you can view later that week!

Fridays 1AM and 1PM and Sundays at 1PM. (Eastern)

Hopefully you can catch it Cade_One!!!

And epicrecipe, thank you so much for posting that! Those articles were great! 😃

btw, Mr. Verastegui CONFIRMS that the next movie will be on Blessed Miguel Pro!!!

Now I can actually ENJOY going to the theatre without worrying about how I compromised a bit here and a bit there… 👍

One more day until Life on the Rock stars the star of Bella… 😃

Also here is a video on reactions of Bella the Movie from a screening in the Diocese of San Diego.

It has Catholic Answer’s own Rosalind Moss AND Crystalina Padilla Evert!!! 👍

I gotta go watch that show online. I subscribe to the audio version of Life on the Rock (podcast). But this time I think I want to see the interview. Did you get to see it Galandriel?

I watched “Life on the Rock” and the interview with Eduardo. I had
heard about the movie “Bella” before and I had planned to see it,
but now I have a mission to get as many others to watch it as well. I think I’ll be buying the LOTR dvd as soon as it is available,
so that others can hear Eduardo’s conversion testimony.(An
aside–he mentions that a book he was given that helped his con-
version was “Rome Sweet Home” by Dr. Scott Hahn. Isn’t is
wonderful how the Lord has used Dr. Hahn, both to inspire and
rev up those of us cradle Catholics and to help revert and con-
vert others to come home?)
Someone mentioned that he reminds one of Jim Cavizio (sp?) and
I agree.
There is one more encore presentation of LOTR on Sunday 11pm
Eastern time in case someone wants to see it.

Thanks Tex! I’ve read “Rome Sweet Home” and really enjoyed it. I too would by the DVD of the LOTR episode with Eduardo to share with others.
