There isn’t anything in this thread worth responding to–like Muslim woman said: truth intentionally mixed with falsehood.

As long as you’re making stuff up as you go–why should I even bother reading? You haven’t the power to damage Islam, and I haven’t the power to give you guidance. 🤷
i dont need the power to damage islam, it does a good job of damaging itself.
ok, why dont you show us where this made up stuff is.
All we are hearing out of you is we made things up, prove it!

This is pretty much the reason it’s not worth responding to “stuff” that’s made up. I can’t prove to you that you made something up–you would have to prove that you didn’t make it up.

But in threads like this one, there are a bunch of claims that are just total fabrications and fantasies. There is no response except to call it what it is.

Amy , why don’t you tell us what falsehood in there in what i quoted from Quran and Hadith?

Here is the sahih hadith again:

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas: …The Prophet did not go to his wives because of the secret which Hafsa had disclosed to 'Aisha, and he said that he would not go to his wives for one month as he was angry with them when Allah admonished him (for his oath that he would not approach Maria). When twenty-nine days had passed, the Prophet went to Aisha first of all. She said to him, ‘You took an oath that you would not come to us for one month, and today only twenty-nine days have passed, as I have been counting them day by day.’ The Prophet said, ‘The month is also of twenty-nine days.’ That month consisted of twenty-nine days. 'Aisha said, 'When the Divine revelation of Choice was revealed, the Prophet started with me…

Sahih Bukhari Volume 3, Book 43, Number 648

Time to start facing things instead of accusing us of falsehood.

Besides, what is the “divine revelation of choice”? was Allah choosing which woman was Muhammad to sleep with??

Amy , why don’t you tell us what falsehood in there in what i quoted from Quran and Hadith?
that aint gonna happen.
they can claim its false and everything, but yet, i asked her to prove it, and she cant…

Sura 66:1: "O prophet, why forbiddest thou what God has made lawful "
this verse is about Prophet’s decision not to take/drink honey anymore. As it’s lawful for Muslims , God asked him why he forbade the lawful food item for himself.
…promises her father future postition .
Before his death , Prophet did not announce who will be his successor .

Soooo many lies are here only in one post. It’s tiring to read this type of post --intentionally mixed a lot of lies with little truth.

some related info:

Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) suffered long 3 years of boycott ; during this time he with his family members & followers including children almost starved to death. If he was after money,
power ,women etc etc he could have gained those by stop preaching oneness of God . He rejected all this kind of proposals by saying:

if they were to put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left hand to stop me from preaching Islam, I would never stop. I will keep preaching until Allah makes Islam prevail or I die."

&&

When he was twenty-five years old he married for the first time his wife Khadijah, who was fifteen years older than he. She remained the only wife of the Prophet for the next twenty-five years until she died (may Allah be pleased with her).

Only after her death, did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) marry other women.

Now, it is obvious that if the Prophet was after physical pleasure he did not have to wait until he was more than fifty years old to start marrying more wives.

He lived in a society in which it was quite acceptable to have many wives

Hmm…

some replies to inJESUS by some Muslim members remind me of cursing between Muslims & Christians in Quran, I think I will start a thread regarding it.

Now that is really funny.

Here it is in context, and there is NO mention of ‘drinking honey’ unless you use that as a euphemism for intercourse! Note the next Sura’s discuss how he had told a secret that was spread…

[66:0] In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

[66:1] O you prophet, why do you prohibit what GOD has made lawful for you, just to please your wives? GOD is Forgiver, Merciful.

[66:2] GOD has decreed for you the laws dealing with your oaths. GOD is your Lord, and He is the Omniscient, Most Wise.

[66:3] The prophet had trusted some of his wives with a certain statement, then one of them spread it, and GOD let him know about it. He then informed his wife of part of the issue, and disregarded part. She asked him, “Who informed you of this?” He said, “I was informed by the Omniscient, Most Cognizant.”

[66:4] If the two of you repent to GOD, then your hearts have listened. But if you band together against him, then GOD is his ally, and so is Gabriel and the righteous believers. Also, the angels are his helpers.

[66:5] If he divorces you, his Lord will substitute other wives in your place who are better than you; submitters (Muslims), believers (Mu’mins), obedient, repentant, worshipers, pious, either previously married, or virgins.

[66:6] O you who believe, protect yourselves and your families from the Hellfire whose fuel is people and rocks. Guarding it are stern and powerful angels who never disobey GOD; they do whatever they are commanded to do.

[66:7] O you who disbelieved, do not apologize today. You are being requited only for what you did.

So we see Allah running to defend the ego of Muhammad who found out about the ‘secret’ being told (of course he CLAIMS God told him that the cat was out of the bag!), telling Muhammad “don’t worry boy, you are MY rep, so you are blameless, it is the heathen woman who can not be trusted, if this continues you can toss her aside and get yourself a BETTER version, as many as you like since you are my BRO dude!”

That makes God a respsecter of Men and gives no boundary for this particular man’s actions or lust.

Muslims can not see this because it is too painful a truth.

They MUST defend it with new lies like “its all about drinking honey”. Right. I have a bridge to sell you if you can believe that lie.

Commentary on this particular Sura:

Introduction

This is one of the most fascinating Suras in the entire Qur’an. In 12 verses, Muhammad violates a deal that he made with his wives, makes and breaks an oath, and receives a “revelation” from God just in time to get him out of trouble.

Period of Revelation

This Sura is considered, by most commentators, as Medinan.

History

What is happening in this Sura? Syed Maududi talks around, but does not address, the issues of this Sura in his commentary - and for good reasons! Fortunately, Al-Baizâwi, (Commentary Vol.II, pp. 340-341), gives an explanation of this passage:

“It is related that Mohammed was alone in company with Mary in Ayshah’s or Hafsah’s turn. Hafsah became aware of that and therefore scolded him about it. He declared he had taken an oath, but admitted his unlawful behaviour, therefore these verses descended.” ("Mizanu’l Haqq, page 330). (The “Mishkat” names Zainab instead of Hafsah - “Mishkat” II, pages 680-681).

The complete story is told in the Rauzatu’r Safâ , Vol. II, page 188):

“Mary (the Copt) was a Christian slave given to Mohammed 7 A.H. (628 A.D.) by the Governor of Egypt, Elmokaukas. Her sister, Shereena was also given at the same time. Mohammed became intimate with Mary and she bore him Ibrahim, who died in 10 A.H. The intimacy took place in the home and bed of his wife Hafsah (daughter of Umar) who was absent at that moment and on the day which was either her or Ayshah’s turn. When Hafsah found this out and questioned him he promised (on oath) not to touch Mary again if she would keep this a secret, and promised that Umar and Abu-Bakr should be his successors. Hafsah, however, told Ayshah about this event, and for a full month Mohammed had no dealings with any of his wives, living with Mary alone.” During that period this “revelation” was given. (“Der Koran”, translated by Ludwig Ullman, Footnote 2 of Sura 66:1-2, page 456).

Another source tells us:

As she waited for them to come out, her jealousy broke all bounds. When, finally, Mariyah left the quarters and Hafsah entered, she said to the Prophet: “I have seen who was here. By God, that was an insult to me. You would not have dared to do that if I amounted to anything at all in your eyes”. At the moment Muhammad realized that such deep-lying jealousy might even move Hafsah to broadcast what she had seen among the other wives. In an attempt to please her, Muhammad promised that he would not go unto Mariyah if she would only refrain from broadcasting what she had seen. (Haykal, The Life of Muhammad, p. 436).

Muhammad’s wives had to take revolving “turns” to be with their husband. Muhammad ignored his own system and had sexual relations with Mary the Copt on a day that was either Hafsah’s or Aishah’s “turn”. Hafsah discovered Muhammad’s breach of protocol and became upset. Muhammad promised her that he would not have sexual relations with Mary, probably out of fear that Hafsah would tell his favorite wife, Aishah - whom he married when she was a child of about 9 years of age.

Hafsah and Aishah were, according to the traditions, often competitors for Muhammad’s attention, and Hafsah told Aishah the entire sordid story. We can only imagine the anger of Aishah and the other wives of Muhammad. In retaliation, Muhammad boycotted the other wives, in respect to his sexual relations with them, and co-habitated exclusively with Mary. After one month, we are told by the traditions and the Qur’an that Almighty God intervened on Muhammad’s behalf.

If we believe the testimony of the Qur’an, God tells Muhammad that it is acceptable for him to break his own oaths! Imagine Almighty God promoting and commending a breach of an oath made by Muhammad, especially under such circumstances as the satiation of Muhammad’s carnal desires!

But wait, things become much worse! God warns Muhammad’s wives against conspiring against the “Prophet”. If they do not heed this warning, they will face Almighty God, the Archangel Gabriel and all of the angels, as well as all of the righteous. What chance would these poor women have against such opposition?

Another threat against the wives of Muhammad is that Almighty God, in complete disregard to His revelations in earlier scriptures against divorce, will permit Muhammad to divorce his wives AND find prettier wives for him! But the intimidation does not end with the threats of divorce! God threatens the wives of Muhammad AND their families with the eternal fires of Hell! After Muhammad’s lies and betrayal, his wives are commanded to repent (for what I am honestly not sure) and Muhammad is exhorted to fight against the unbelievers. We are told that Almighty God then gave the wives of Muhammad “positive role models” of female behavior, including Mary the mother of Jesus who is incorrectly called the daughter of Imran! But who cares about the details at a time like this?

Theology

Breaking Oaths

In the Old and New Testaments, God said that the making and taking of oaths was a very serious matter and was not to be entered into lightly. However, if we believe the Qur’an, God allowed Muhammad to break his own oaths for his own convenience to satisfy his own desires! Why would God change his eternal will and his eternal word to fulfill the desires of one man?

The Issue of Almighty God Interfering with Muhammad’s Domestic Problems

Another difficulty with this Sura is the fact that** God rushes head on into Muhammad’s domestic disputes in order to intervene on Muhammad’s behalf!** If we believe the Muslim argument that the Qur’an is the eternal, uncreated word of Almighty God, then why would God record these threats for all of eternity? What moral lesson are we to learn from all of this? Clearly these “revelations” were “received” by Muhammad so that he could excuse himself from the consequences of his own moral weaknesses.

Right. I have a bridge to sell you if you can believe that lie.
you saved me the time! add to them the sahih hadith 😉

but some find it too embarrasing so they create ridiculous interpretations. A dozen verse condemning Muhammad for not drinking honey 😃 but what is pittiful is that some fall for absurdities instead of seeing things for what they really are, that is, a man claiming to be a prophet slleping with a “possession” in his wife’s bed and asking her not to tell anyone so what is better than making Allah threaten these bad bad wives?

woe to those who call evil good and good evil.

that’s a good idea. Pl. start it . Those who intentionally writing lies , those who are worshipping false dieties may invoke curse of God upon him/her . I am ready to do that . I wrote something like that earlier , I am writing this again & InshaAllah will write that in your thread : If Jesus (p) is the real deity , for not worshipping him , may God burn me in fire forever . If Muhammed (p) is the last Prophet , then for rejecting him & spreading lies against him , may God either guide or curse those misguided people ; Ameen.

Good posts **Empurpuledsoul **. I quoted one of your paragraphes for the time being, in order to find the authentic source.

Sawdah was happy to see her but A’isha felt somehow betrayed because Hafsah was within her age range and she was upset that whilst the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) did not take another wife when he was married to Khadijah why should he then take another wife after her.
Umar knew very well that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) loved A’isha more than any of the other wives and at times tried to make his daughter aware of this fact. He once said to her. “You are not like A’isha and your father is not like her father.”
When the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) deserted his wives because they became too demanding, Umar once again advised Hafsah to be careful saying. “You should not be deceived by the one who has been motivated by her beauty and the love of the Prophet for her (referring to A’isha).”
When the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) married his other wives A’isha began to realise that her protestations were in vain and she made a friend of Hafsah.
Among the other wives of the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wasalam), A’isha (radiAllahu anha) was the most intimate and closest one to Hafsah (radiAllahu anha).
Her father, once said to her, "How would you be like Aisha and how would your father be like hers?
It is Hafsah and A’isha (radiAllahu anha) who backed up each other against the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) in a domestic intriguewhich is mentioned in the Qur’an.
It is also mantioned in a tradition reported in Sahih al-Bukhari;
**A’isha narrated. “Allah’s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) used to drink honey in the house of Zainab bint Jahsh and would stay there with her.
So Hafsah and I agreed secretly that if he comes to either of us she would say to him. ‘It seems you have eaten Mughofir (a kind of bad smelling resin) for I smell in you the smell of Moghofir,’ (we did so) and he replied. 'No, but I was drinking honey in the house of Zaynab, the daughter of Jahsh, and I shall never take it again. I have taken an oath as to that, and you should not tell anybody about it.” **
According to another report, however, the story goes a little differently. The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) had a likening for honey. It was his habit to pass by the houses of his wives after the afternoon prayer (Asr).
One day he lingered at Hafsah’s house longer than usual, A’isha became worried, and she tried to discover the reason for this. She was told that a woman from the family of Hafsah had brought honey to her (Hafsah), and she prepared a drink for the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam).
A’isha immediately planned revenge against Hafsah. She told Sawdah to say to the Prophet when he came to visit, “I smell maghafir on your breath.”
The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) has always disliked strong smells especially on his breath, and said that he had only taken a drink made of honey which Hafsah had offered him. A’isha asked Safiyah and the other wives as well to say the same thing to the Prophet which disturbed him very much.
He then forbade honey unto himself for which Allah revealed verses of Surah at Tahrim to rebuke him, and to revoke his oath never to touch honey again.
However, the Qur’an mentions two women without specification;
“If you two [wives of the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam), namely A’isha and Hafsa (radiAllahu anhuma)] turn in repentance to Allah (it will be better for you), your hearts are indeed so inclined [to oppose what the Prophet likes]; but of you help one another against him [Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam)], then verily, Allah is his Maula (Lord, or Master, or Protector, etc.), and Gabriel, and the righteous among the believers, - and furthermore, the angels - are his helpers.”
[Surah Tahrim, 66: 4] geocities.com/mutmainaa1/people/hafsah.html
This is the story about the honey. I don’t know if there is a dispute about to which story the Sura applies. It probably depends on whether the discussion is about food or women. Muslims will make the Sura fit whichever discussion they need it to fit into. 🤷

Looking for something else in this islam Q&A site, I came across this and now I’m baffled because the other “reputable” islamic sites said mohamad was married to Maria the Copt and this one claims Maria as a “slave girl”… - NOT married to mohamad…

Did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) have nine wives or eleven?
In Ar-Raheeo Al Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar) by Safi-ur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri, the author says in the section called “The Prophet Household” that the Prophet (S.A.W.) had 11 wives, plus 2 who he did not consummate marriage with plus four concubines
Is this information correct? .
Praise be to Allaah.
The scholars differ concerning the number of wives that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had. The majority are of the view – which is correct – that he had eleven wives with whom he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) consummated marriage, and he left nine of them behind when he died. Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid and Zaynab bint Khuzaymah – may Allaah be pleased with them both – died before him (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
This is the view of his companions, as the imams narrated from them in their saheeh books.
It was narrated from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to go around his wives in a single night, and he had nine wives. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 280.
Mu’aadh ibn Hishaam narrated from his father, according to a report narrated by al-Bukhaari (265) from him alone, that there were eleven wives, but he was mistaken; the correct view is that he went around to nine wives.
Ibn Hajar said:
Ibn Khuzaymah said: Mu’aadh ibn Hishaam was the only one who narrated that from his father, and it was narrated by Sa’eed ibn ‘Uroobah and others from Qataadah but they said “nine wives.” Al-Bukhaari referred to the report of Sa’eed ibn Abi ‘Uroobah in a mu’allaq report here, but twenty chapters later he narrated it in a mawsool report when he said: “He used to go around his wives in one night, and at that time he had nine wives.”
Fath al-Baari, 1/377.
It was narrated that ‘Ata’ said: We, along with Ibn ‘Abbaas, attended the funeral of Maymoonah in Sarif. Ibn ‘Abbaas said: This is the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). When you lift up her bier, do not shake it or rock it; be gentle, for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had nine wives and he used to give a portion of his time to eight and not to one.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4780; Muslim, 1465.
The one to whom he did not give a portion of his time was Sawdah bint Zam’ah, when she gave up her night to ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her).
Ibn al-Qayyim said:
There is no scholarly dispute concerning the fact that he left nine behind when he died and that he used to give a portion of his time to eight of them. Those nine were: ‘Aa’ishah, Hafsah, Zaynab bint Jahsh, Umm Salamah, Safiyyah, Umm Habeebah, Maymoonah, Sawdah and Juwayriyyah. The first of his wives to follow him after he died was Zaynab bint Jahsh in 20 AH and the last of them to die was Umm Salamah in 62 AH during the caliphate of Yazeed.
Zaad al-Ma’aad, 1/114
**With regard to his female slaves, he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had four female slaves.
Ibn al-Qayyim said:
Abu ‘Ubaydah said: He had four: Maariyah who was the mother of his son Ibraaheem; Rayhaanah; another beautiful slave women who he got among some of the prisoners of war; and a slave woman who was given to him by Zaynab bint Jahsh. **
Zaad al-Ma’aad, 1/114.
Islam Q&A

So, it is permissiable in islam to have unmarried sex with a slave girl at all times… and again this Q&A confirms that Maria the Copt was not married to mohammad…

This leads me to conclude on thing. Yesterday I read a site that Maria the Copt never changed her religion from Christianity to islam - regardless of the one site I read said she did during the journey to Medina…

What is disturbing is that islamqa.com is a site that muslims use today to Q&A and telling them that … Hey, yeah… it’s ok to have sex with slaves…

What is % of slavery nowadays in middle east? 🤷

A realistic look at marriage to women of the People of the Book
Does a Muslim man have the right to marry a Christian or Jewish woman as the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) married Maariyah al-Qibtiyyah?.
Praise be to Allaah.
**The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not marry Maariyah al-Qibtiyyah, rather she was his concubine. The Muqawqis, the ruler of Egypt, gave her as gift to him after the Treaty of al-Hudaybiyah.
It is permissible to have intercourse with a slave woman, even if she is not Muslim, because she is part of “what one’s right hand possesses,” and Allaah has permitted “what one’s right hand possesses” without stipulating that the slave woman be a Muslim. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): **
“And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts)
  1. Except from their wives or (the slaves) that their right hands possess,… for then, they are free from blame”
[al-Mu’minoon 23:5-6]
With regard to marrying a Christian or Jewish woman, this is permissible according to the text of the Qur’aan. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Made lawful to you this day are At‑Tayyibaat [all kinds of Halaal (lawful) foods, which Allaah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits)]. The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them. (Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) before your time when you have given their due Mahr (bridal-money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), desiring chastity (i.e. taking them in legal wedlock) not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girlfriends”
[al-Maa’idah 5:5]
Ibn al-Qayyim said:
It is permissible to marry a woman from the People of the Book. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“(Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste [muhsan] women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) before your time”
[al-Maa’idah 5:5]
Muhsan here means chaste; the same word is also used in Soorat al-Nisa’ to describe married women, who are forbidden in marriage to anyone else. And it was said that the chaste women to whom marriage is permitted is free women, so slave women from the People of the Book are not permissible. However, the first view is the one which is correct, for several reasons…
The point is that Allaah has permitted us to marry chaste women from among the People of the Book, and the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did that. ‘Uthmaan married a Christian woman, as did Talhah ibn ‘Ubayd-Allaah; and Hudhayfah married a Jewish woman.
‘Abd-Allaah ibn Ahmad said: I asked my father about a Muslim man who married a Christian or Jewish woman. He said: I do not like for him to do it, but if he does, then some of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did that too.

Yes slaves are not considered wives in Islam but sex with them is ok. Slaves’ status in Islam is more than a slave but less than a wife…they are called “possessions”. In Islam, to be possessed by a Muslim is an honour because he gives you more rights, but still not as a wife.
