yes, some are not considered authentic, but Bukhari is. Google “authentic hadith” and see what you get.
That is not true. Bukhari is more reliable. But there are some traditions that have only one narrator (reporter). I am sure that not all of the Bukhari is to be obeyed.
oh really? this statement is so utterly ridiculous i don’t know whether to laugh or cry! … i think i’ll laugh. :rotfl:
I read it today on another site. It was news for me too. I can retrieve the matter for you if it is allowed to post in this forum. It is reliable news.
whew, now that i got that out of my system please show us who this Catholic specialist is that says we shouldn’t rely too much on a book that is ALL incorrect.
I never said that bible is all incorrect. Please see my post. It says “Do not think that all of the bible is true and perfect (Correct).” It only means that there are some things in the bible which are not correct.
yes, we are aware of the many different sects that broke away from the Catholic Church. planten, i assume you love truth, (don’t we all) so please take the time to read through this thread. it will really help you to understand this issue.
Well if you are aware about your books then you are nowhere.

Sorry, I have no time to go through any long articles. I cannot do it. If there is anything you write, that I will read. Love for all and good wishes.

you can post, but this topic should go to another thread.

that was not you original quote. this was:
It is being reported by the Catholic specialists that no one should rely too much on the bible because all of it is not true and correct.

i don’t know what you mean. what other denominations make up about Christianity doesn’t change the solid foundation the Catholic Church rests on. if a group of people started a new sect today and denied that mohammed was a prophet what would you do if they still called themselves muslims? jehovah witnesses don’t think Jesus is God, yet they still call themselves Christian. Their incorrect beliefs do not leave us nowhere though.

back at ya buddy! planten, while i pretty much don’t agree with anything you have written, i do enjoy your posts. i read somewhere else today where you typed “hip hip hurray planten!” and it gave me a good laugh. 🙂

Would you honestly say that I did not reply? I did reply and gave the answer to your supposed problem of inheritance.I also said that I will check up and ask some one if there was some other explanation. But when I checked, it was the right answer. So I did not repeat the post.
yes brother,u replied it but i asked for reference from quran about ur formula(13/24&14/24)but u didn’t show any reference from quran.thanks

Since this thread is more than a year old and every one has commented and it is creating misunderstanding in the minds of christian brothers and sisters, it has to be explained as follows:
  1. There is no mention in the Quran that the prophet will be given Mary the mother of
    Jesus.
  2. It is the idea of some person that is a sort of commentary and has no value.
  3. I had been telling all christian friends that they should not run to the Hadith too much.
  4. This the bad result as you can see.
  5. The expalantion of the verse, if based on a true Hadith, can be as follows:
The name of Mary is mentioned specially as a good example of a virgin. Nothing more.
The name of Aaiya is mentioned as a very good example of an honest married lady. Nothing more.

Nobody should read bad things into that matter. It does not mean that Allah will give Mary and / or Aasiya to muhammad in next life. There is no such thing. I do not believe that any foolish Muslim will even think of such things. Far from it. So the friends may forget about this affair as a man made idea which has no base. It is not from GodAllah. Most likely not from Muhammad too. So please forget it.

Dear Planten,

If there are mistakes in Hadith, why don’t you just drop it from your believe. Stop kissing the black stone because it is nothing in the Quran. Why Hadith had to make my Grandpa suffered a lot when he had to kiss that black stone, while it is not obligated in the Quran? Gee, I somehow agree with Lapell saying this topic is too insulting for you. So, we better go off-topic now or start a new thread.
Err…kissing the black-stone? never heard of that one.

But what I think what planten means is that some hadiths are not authentic and are considered not true or weak. Angelos should explain all that to you. 😉

“The man will be able to have sexual intercourse WITH A HUNDRED VIRGINS IN ONE DAY.”

😉 And Christians wonder why men are eager to be suicide bombers!!
Eh…

If I make it to Heaven, might I exchange my virgins for half the number of female ne’er-do-wells who actually know what they’re doing?

Honestly, I’ve slept with a virgin… It isn’t something I’d like to repeat 100 times.

😛

I would choose the one bride I married in the sight of God over all the virgins to ever enter heaven. Who would want to die to be united with 100 strangers? I cannot see that as being anything but a hollow and meaningless existence.

And I wonder… Do women get 100 virgin men? What a nightmare!

Considering that you said you’re just adopting Islam as your religion, you really don’t know much of its teachings that include pilgrimage to Mecca. And when u pray, you got to have direction to this Kaba, as it represents God’s house, don’t you think it’s rather ridiculous? Don’t you think God is beyond time and place that you have to pray certain allocated time and certain direction ?

By this pilgrimage alone many Indonesians had suffered death in Mecca, due to many unpredictable chaos and disaster they might “unluckily” find there. Not to mention that most of them have to sell so many portion of their wealth , believing they’d be guaranteed to “go directly to heaven” if they die there.

I keep wondering why this naive Muslims are really target of shallowness to get their money taken to support those Arabs, and still they don’t get it.

No I already know about the ka’bah and facing makkah when I pray I don’t have a problem with that :p—but I don’t know much about a black-stone and kissing this black-stone.

Jews also have the temple …it’s God’s house ,
Jews also pray three time a day …
Jews kiss the Torah and the temple
read Leviticus and you will see that time is important to God

double standard

Yeah…Hadi…time is of course important for men being created by God, so time is allowed by God for human being to have reference. That I understand, but to have time limited for praying that means that only certain times are considered allowed for praying makes no sense to me. And Jesus also said this things below as reference to people who prayed according to their belief regarding places of direction and worship:

*Joh 4:19 The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.
Joh 4:20 “Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”
Joh 4:21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
Joh 4:22 "You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
Joh 4:23 "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
Joh 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit
*

See…by our Lord Jesus we know how to worship God as in spirit, that is beyond time and place.

**You are far off the right way. The Jews had a temple and a wish for a temple and a direction too. they are your ancestors. Please do not disown them completely. they are your seniors.

Muhammad, while in Makkah faced Jerusalem during prayer. That was because the spiritual leadership of the world was with the Jews. He faced Jerusalem for 13 years in Makkah, faced the place where the Jewish sacred temple used to be (even though it was no more there.)

When Muhammad was forced to flee for life and he went to Madinah, he kept on facing Jerusalem. He felt the need and necessity of a direction by some divine guidance. (proof very soon).
After a year in Madinah, The order came for change of Qiblah, that Muslims were always to face to ka’abah (the oldest house of worship) in Makkah. So the prophet started facing Makkah and told all his followers to do so during prayers and never to face to any other direction.

Proof: Think over it, please. What you are calling ridiclious is the best and most important part of any faith. i.e. sense of direction. Did Muhammad know that his religion (Islam) will spread all over the world and people wll need a direction? Was he a magician? His religion spread in whole of Arabia within 10 years and mosques were built for prayers every where. The travellors also prayed during their travel. If there were twenty Muslims in a group they prayed collectively and faced Makkah.

The religion spread in many countries. The prayer was a must (obligatory) five times a day every where for every Muslim. They needed houses of worship (Mosques). The prophet himself had made a few mosques. The Muslims copied his practice (Sunnah) and did the same. The mosques in every city in every country were made facing Makkah.

Suppose the Prophet had not given the guidance about the direction, what would happen? There would be chaos. In one city, in one part of city there will be mosques facing different directions. When the mosque would be built, people may fight about the direction of the mosque. One chief of the town would like the mosque to be built facing his house. the other chief would try to have it face his house.

Within one house, people (family) perform individual prayers. father would be facing west. the son may be facing east and the daughter may be standing nearby in prayer facing North. Do you see the problems, if there was no sense of Direction?**

I better leave at that today for you to digest. For the people who are to pray collectively five time a day all over the world, they need guidance about a direction.

I need not discuss your rmoney matters.

No, I don’t see “problems”. God will hear all of their prayers no matter which direction they are facing. They could even be standing on their heads. God cares about the sincerity of our worship and what is in our hearts - not which direction we are facing! Are you saying the opposite - that God cares more about which direction you face and will only listen (or listen more) to the prayers of those facing one direction vs. another?

I’m not trying to debate because I don’t have a particularly thorough understanding of Islam. However, I do have a few questions.

Perhaps it is a cultural difference, but I don’t understand why people praying in different directions would cause disagreements. It has never caused disagreements amongst Christians. Why would this cause conflict amongst Muslims?

Also, is it possible that the Islamic prophet changed the direction of prayer from Jerusalem to Makkah so that he could disown the Jewish peoples, furthering a divide between the Jews and his followers, eventually leading to actively suppressing them? I’m not just trying to stir trouble, it’s an honest question. What do you think?

Also, in many movements - such as the ones headed by David Korest, James Warren, Charles Manson, and Joseph Smith - the prophet would reveal false prophesies as they were convenient to him typically to make his followers cater to his demands and leadership. They also instituted a wide array of rituals that required strict adherence, such as the movements required in Muslim prayer, that kept the focus on performing the ritual and living the lifestyle and kept the focus off of intellectual analysis and critique of the actual teachings. What similarities do you see between Islam and these movements? What differences do you see?

Also, more to the point of this thread, it seems odd to me that the Father, having required us to be chaste and sexually moral, would reward us in paradise with our selection of any number of women to have sex with, whether this woman be the Virgin Mary or any nine year old girl. Where, in paradise, are the concerns of the women tended to? What are they promised in Heaven? Or was the prophet more concerned with the men?

Yeah…'cos you still don’t see the problems. You don’t care bout people being deceived to pay and sometimes even die for something that sounds like an instruction from pagan religion.

Seraphime, Islam is strict on One God belief like the Jews. It is you having three gods in One God that are pagans.
You are disturbed about the Muslims pilgrimage. Let them go there to perform their prayers. They do not harm you by that.

**Scardinoz, I had explained in anothe rpost that the bounties of the paradise are not as we see them here, the milk and honey and beautiful ladies.

There is a verse of the Quran which states:

" No soul knows about the bounties and prizes of the paradise that Allah has kept hidden from the eyes of the believers."

There is a Hadith which says: ’ No soul has seen the gifts of Paradise and no one has heard it and no mind has imagined the prizes of the paradise."

It all goes to show that the good things of paradise written in the Quran are just for our understanding only. They are not what they are being told. The good things of the next world are not material benefits. They are all spiritual pleasures only.

There will be no sex in next world (paradise) and no Maternity home too.**

So there is no question of Muhammad marrying Mary. There will be no such thing in paradise. Muhammad loved Mary and Jesus and the apostles of Jesus. Some one has misled the christians into believeing bad things.
