Nice! Which Dona Nobis Pacem are you using? The traditional round or the Norbert version?
 
This weekend, I went to an Into the Wild retreat for Catholic men, and we had Mass every day. This morning before our Rosary procession to the outdoor church these men built, they played the taps. The music for the Mass was this:

Our Gather hymnal is about 15 years old. I am going to have to look into options for adding the new translations, probably in the back, to extend their life for another decade.
 
My parish currently uses Catholic Community Hymnal (GIA). I am looking into Gather 3rd, for two reasons.
  1. CCH is about 3/4 the size of Gather 3rd and has more traditional hymns than I use.
  2. New Settings are there 😉
The way we are handling the text is by little leaflets that have the full text. 95% of the congregation can’t read music anyway, so why bother buying Assembly Editions every time I introduce a new Mass Setting?

Hi, H –

Gather’s got some gems, and wonderful keyboard arrangements. Seem to find something “new” every time I open it up to putz around on my office keyboard.

Sang a wedding last night where the (young) bride requested a song I could only find in Gather: Wherever You Go (Haas). Beautiful!

Love Wherever you go by Haas. We are excited to return to Gather after our 10 year hiatus with JourneySongs. It will be nice to see what’s new.
BTW, I absolutely love your selections! I’d love to sit in and play/sing with your amazing choir.

Thank you! Sorry to ask, but why do you think your music director wouldn’t use the Sibelius at your parish? Such a “familiar” tune, even to those who don’t think they know it, and so many prayerful songs set to it…
