The Today’s Liturgy magazine for Lent-Easter ended today, so the new one begins next Sunday. We are having our music planning meeting tomorrow evening, so I’ll post what we are doing for Trinity Sunday tomorrow.
Adding on to VAC’s inquiry - what is everyone’s plans for Trinity Sunday? I think we’ll probably end up picking one of the well know Trinitarian hymns “All Praise and Glad Thanksgiving” or “O God, Almighty Father”. Maybe we’ll pick “Eternal Father, Strong to Save”, referencing Memorial Day but keeping in mind the central celebration.
Ordinary Time is the hardest season to select music, I think, because it doesn’t really have specific hymns relating to the season. We can always use well-known Easter hymns during the Easter season or Christmas carols during Christmas, but Ordinary Time you actually have to “think”.
I still can’t believe how fast the Easter season has gone. I can remember the Chrism Mass like it was yesterday, and I was thinking, “Well, we have a long time until Pentecost!”
