Why do you feel sorry for them? What about the ones in the West who don’t speak up and instead we find that Muslim Charity goes to fund the Jihadists? It isn’t like they are under Sharia laws.very true. my original post, was to a muslim telling us we should Calm Down. kind of toungue and cheek i admit. probably not fair. but you are very correct in saying they must have a major change in behavior if they are ever going to be more accepted by the west. i feel bad for the vast majority of muslims, who are too afraid to speak, due to violence and terror aimed at them if they step out of line. i feel bad for the majority, that through no fault of their own, are caught in between in times of conflict. i think the vast majority of those who practiced islam, would just like to be left alone by their governments, and extremist. they have much to offer, in terms of positive cultural influences, education, the arts etc. i really pray that the majority does win out in the end. Peace![]()
I think you might be right, but the problem is that the teachings of Islam do not allow what you are writing. They would have to change Sharia laws which means they would have to change the Quran and Sunnah.
I think that some countries are trying to change some things, and it turns out that the clerics get all up in a tizzy. Egypt tried to change the age of girls to be married. The clerics got up in a tizzy that it would be un-islamic if they did that. (I think it was Egypt, I can’t find the article) Right now Egypt is trying to change what is taught in schools and stop teaching the hatred and Islamic scholars are in a tizzy.
What I am saying it isn’t the people in Islam doing the changing - it is the secular drive that is trying to change things.
I personally don’t think Islam can change if the majority do nothing and continue to sit back and be silent out of fear.
Unless they get out of their heads that the Quran is from their God, then it won’t change.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 92, Number 461Narrated Ubaidullah:
Ibn 'Abbas said, “Why do you ask the people of the scripture about anything
while your Book (Quran) which has been revealed to Allah’s Apostle is
newer and the latest? You read it pure, undistorted and unchanged,
and Allah has told you that the people of the scripture (Jews and
Christians) changed their scripture and distorted it, and wrote the
scripture with their own hands and said, ‘It is from Allah,’ to sell it for a
little gain. Does not the knowledge which has come to you prevent you
from asking them about anything? No, by Allah, we have never seen any man
from them asking you regarding what has been revealed to you!”
Since the Qur’an is Allah’s word, and his word can not be changed (Refer to 6:115,
10:15, 10:64 & 18:27 above.) The violent ayats can not be removed or reinterpreted.3:78 And verily, among them is a party who distort the Book with their tongues (as they
read), so that you may think it is from the Book, but it is not from the Book, and they
say: “This is from Allâh,” but it is not from Allâh; and they speak a lie against Allâh
while they know it.
There is plenty more of the above too. So even though many would just carry on life as usual - many would not.
We saw this after the Ottoman Empire fell. There was about 4 years of peace (that can be relative too!) and then a man called al-Bana reared up and started his movement, the Muslim Brotherhood, based on the Quran and Sunnah.
