The slippery slope of ecumenism into heresy…Hey, why don’t all Catholics just convert to Islam so we can accommodate the Muslims and not offend them…

“Muslim prayer rooms should be opened in Catholic schools, say church leaders,” by Simon Caldwell for the Daily Mail, December 2 (thanks to Sr. Soph):
Muslim prayer rooms should be opened in every Roman Catholic school, Church leaders have said.
The Catholic bishops of England and Wales also want special toilet facilities in schools to be adapted for Islamic cleaning rituals.
Their demands will shock both Catholic parents and the Government because they go way beyond the legal requirements on catering for the rights and needs of religious minorities.
But the bishops are keen to answer critics who say religious schools sow division - and to show that they are leading the way in building bridges between people of different faiths…

A very holy man once said, when asked what he thought the greatest evil of our times was, “That good men do nothing in the face of evil.” That’s what’s going on all over our culture. We sit around and do nothing while evil thrives. It seems that the best of us are whithered into weak apathy while the worst of us have passionate intensity! That has to be reversed.

This is probably a stupid question, but why would Muslim parents send their children to Catholic school in the first place?

Because when is the last time a Moslem school produced a nobel winner?

In the greater Pittsburgh area many non-catholics don’t send their children to the public schools when there is a “catholic” school available. The majority of the non-catholic children are Jewish and Muslim. The schools have compromised with making the religious part of the curriculum optional 🤷 . Thus they are no longer Catholic but private schools IOHO. (in our humble opinion)

This is one of many reasons that some of us teach our own children at home and won’t send them to the local catholic schools.

Many generations ago the Moslem’s had it all over the west in education and technology. Sadly they have remained in the middle ages in education. They send many of their youth to the West to be educated.

If we Westerners are not careful we will eventually be the ones left behind. Why? IOHO it is due to trying to create a level playing field instead of rewarding those that excel.

LOL, no purpose in having Catholic schools if they’re just going to do that.

Nowadays, Catholic schools have the reputation of being “elitist” with non-religious kids and teachers. I’ve also heard of Catholic colleges wanting to shed their religious affiliation. This doesn’t shock me one bit.

They confuse the habits the nuns wear with burkas.

Oh…wait a minute…most nuns don’t wear habits anymore.

St Louis Univ sold their soul for an 8 million dollar in public funds to build sports arena,

I guess it was to keep their pro-abortion/pro embryonic stem cell basketball coach, who says he is a practicing Catholic.,

Ummm… I can think of a lot more things to worry about than children at school who are actually religious enough to pray 5 times a day.

You should be more worried about the catholic kids who have no good catholic role models to remind them to say their catholic prayers at the catholic school. And the teachers who teach them heresy.

Maybe those muslim kids will actually remind the catholics to say their prayers.

Don’t Muslims pray five times a day? That is more than the Catholics in Catholic schools I’ve seen lol. Who cares if they aren’t praying in a “Catholic” fashion? At least they are praying. God bless them.

A large national company for which I once worked prided itself on having Muslim prayer rooms available, even in their branches that did not happen to have members of that religion employed.
I was told, however, by the self-proclaimed Catholic manager that he would not abide by a previous agreement that would allow me to have Sunday mornings off in order to attend Mass. I was told to have the pastor change Sunday Mass to Tuesdays, because that’s when my day off would be henceforth scheduled.

They (PC people) bend over back wards for everyone else but the Jew or Christian.

Let’s be careful about taking swipes at the middle ages. The education at many medieval universities was top-notch in philosophy, rhetoric, logic, and theology (the sacred sciences), whereas today our universities just pump out financial analysts and computer programmers (the servile sciences).

Thinkers vs. functionaries. There is no comparison.

Creighton University (Jesuit) has at least one Moslem prayer room and lets a Protestant “Bible” denomination hold its services in the lower chapel.

Read what I said. I acknowledged they were way ahead at one point. But in many ways their education system fell behind in the middle ages. I am also saddened with how our education system has evolved into mostly tech or specific subject education.

Universities are a little different. They cater to many ethnic groups and religious situations.
