Thanks. How can I “find joy in sharing my mind and heart and feelings with him”?
I think Liber answered that one already

, and I can answer it too, in slightly different words : imagine what HE’s feeling, put yourself in his shoes : imagine how happy HE is, when he hears you pouring your heart into his. Can you imagine that ?
I found that when I accepted to change my point of view, and to put myself in DH’s shoes, I managed to see things in a wholly different manner : for him, it was the fact that he simply LOVES going to the museum / theater / … with me. I was no great fan of it (ie: I did everything I could to avoid our going

:shrug

. Then I tried and really made an effort to see these things with his eyes, and instead of doing anything to avoid them, I began planning them for him, telling him “maybe tomorrow we could go and spend a few hours at the Louvre museum”… What happened ? I focused on and began enjoying the joy I was thus giving to him.
KWIM ?
edit : antoher example: just before the Advent started, I bought and hid a Chocolate Advent Calender for DH

(because he had whined he got one when he was a kid

), until the Advent started and I took it out and gave him to him as a surprise. I was so happy to have got this idea, I knew he would be so happy about it, and laugh, and rejoyce each and everyday about this tiny chocolate thing he could eat. So within my own heart I was already smiling and rejoycing about his reaction.

Focus on his reaction, not yours. You’ll see it does taste great ;-), as if YOURSELF were eating the chocolate.
