I’ll try to be as brief as I can - my husband is 63, a retired sheriff’s deputy of 27 yrs. He was married 32 years to his first wife who suffered 3 years with cancer. He cashed in his pension to pay her medical bills, which he does not regret (nor do I). However, he still had to file bankruptcy. We have been married almost 3 years and he is in RCIA, waiting for my annulment so he can be accepted into the church. The problem, however, is financial. He works at a private club, dependent on gratuities. His income is down more than $10,000 from the past two years. At his age it is difficult to find a new, better paying job. I work full time but was downsized twice and make much less than I used to. We don’t want a magnificent lifestyle. We just want to cover the bills. He is going to look for a part time job (won’t let me). Besides the fact that he is exhausted now as he works 6 days a week (Tues-Sun) I work the typical M-F and we only see each other in the evenings now. We are willing to do whatever is necessary, but he is very stressed about the situation. I am asking for relief for him, whether it is financial or emotional. Thanks and God bless you.
