My four-year-long journey with Catholicism has finally ended. I thank you all for answering my questions and encouraging me on this long walk. Sadly, I’ve come to a different conclusion, but this does not mean I do not want to be member of this family.

I understand that some might respond in an uncharitable way, and that’s totally understandable. I only made this post to thank everyone for their hand in my spiritual life, however. Pray for me!

Please be assured of my prayers. While I don’t agree with your conclusions, I respect your decision nonetheless. Hope you decide to give Catholicism another go some day! Looking forward to seeing you around.

Christ’s peace.

I don’t believe I am, but please pray for me if you feel that I need correction.

I have just prayed for you now. I hope you don’t leave the one true Church established by God.

May the Holy Spirit guide you and protect you.

I am interested in the reasons you believe your chosen church is the one true church established by Jesus Christ.

Prayers for you, and wishes that God bless you and lead you back.

Well, if you’re looking for me to beg you to stay, I won’t. I’ll just pray for your soul and leave you to God. One day you’ll learn the truth.

I expected this sort of response. I’m not asking you to beg, or even argue against me. I wanted to thank you for all you’ve done. You’ve had a profound hand in my journey.

I’m going to try to live a holy life as Jesus intended. That’s the end goal for all of us.

I wish you well on your journey.

Would you say your decision came about during or even because of the pandemic and other 2020 happenings? I know there are plenty of other reasons a person could decide this, I’m just curious how our current events are affecting people’s journeys.

I will pray for you my brother or sister in Christ.
Our journey only ceases when we die. Part of our journey frequently includes the path you are now taking.

God uses everyone in different ways, so go forth and grow in knowledge. Speaking as someone that’s left the church, I want to re-join Catholicism after a hiatus of about 10 years. Experimented with Lutheranism and it had its upsides, but the people are garbage. Then didn’t go to church for a while. I have my disagreements with Catholicism, but the people are very nice. I think I’ll just pray that I understand the theology of the Catholic Church better and not look for alternatives that seem to align with my way of thinking. It seems like I just think wrong and need prayers. I’ll be praying for your journey as well. Sometimes experiences outside the Catholic faith make it seem better in comparison.

Welcome to the Episcopal Church! You’ll like it! Pm me if you have any questions! I switched from Roman Catholic Church to the Episcopal Church as well.

I worship primarily in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, but go all over the diocese for the different liturgical styles!

So what was it? what was the reason that made you decide against?
