My methodist ministers will know that I'm going catholic now!

This is finally it! I’m gonna do it! I’m going to email my methodist ministers NOW and tell them that I’ve joined a Roman Catholic Church! When I get a message back from them I will post it here for you all to see! I can’t wait to hear what they’ll say (I’m both excited and scared)! 😃

I have become a catholic! LOL, it’s very different from your church isn’t it? I had no idea what it would be like when I first went into the church on a sunday! It was hard at first but now everyhting is going good for me there. The priest is quite nice there too.

My mum is doing really well but she will not come to church no matter how much I ask her… It upsets me but I always boost her faith and talk about my experiences at church every sunday to her. I tell her all that the priest taught us that day and then I go through some scripture with her, it’s a bit like a home bible study!

In your e-mail to your methodist ministers I don’t see any heads up that you’re going to post their reply on a public forum. That seems unethical to me.

Here’s some fun you can do with Methodist friends. If they ask you what you do for a living, tell them “I eat and drink Jesus.”

I’m only going to show you their reply to my annoucement that I’m catholic now. Anything else would just be immoral and a privacy violation to them, which I am not going to do! I’m not a lunatic! :whacky:

My mum is an Irish Roman Catholic, I had a great laugh with her the other day when I suggested that I might one day go back to my methodist church just once and when we go in the back room for prayer just before sunday service and they ask me to pray, I would begin with this; “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee…”

…could you imagine what would happen!? They would probably pick me up and throw me out of the church doors!

LOL - It’s a very funny thought! But I would never do it! They would probably lynch me! 😃
 
Oh come on :rolleyes: I’m sure your Methodist minister will only be mildly surprised. Lots of people leave the Methodist church to join other churches while others from other faiths (including Catholics join the Methodist church for whatever reasons)

Your minister is well familiar with the Catholic faith. He probably has lots of friends who are Catholic and participated in Echumenical (sp?) functions and peace marches

Maybe you can still drop in after the service for coffee and donuts to visit old friends?

They probably think they are having a private conversation with you via e-mail. You should let them know that their messages, and you own, are being made public. If you think that will change their response to you it’s all the more reason to do so.

My ministers were never catholic them selves, they have no catholic mates and they converted me from a complete life of athiesm! Of course they will be upset!
I’m worried that they will not mail me back, because they will be in rage at me…

P.S you are ex methodist! 😃 I love to hear from another methodist proestant! So tell me, how long ago was you methodist then!?

Then be forthcoming and give them the opportunity to self-edit. It may be that you’ll get a faster reply that way. Let them know they’ll be ministering to everyone with an internet connection and not only you.😉

I agree with this. While I understand that you mean no harm, it is only fair that you should let them know what you intend to do. Just ask youself if you would like to have your e-mails or portions there-of posted on a public site without your foreknowledge.
Please seek their permission.
