FANTASTIC! THE PRIEST IS AMAZING AND i’VE TAKEN QUITE A SHINE TO HIM! 🙂
Thats great. There are many wonderful Priests, but there are some that you know have a special gift from God that others don’t have. Priest’s are human just like us, God gives them all different gifts too. Glad you like him. He will teach you alot. If you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask him. If we can help just ask too. I have been praying for you.👍

Zundrah, no offence but an honest question.

You posted the following on July 9 - as in four days before the current thread - as the opening post in a thread which you headed ‘This is my protest against the Catholic Church!’:

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=355001&highlight=protest+Catholic

I’m not wanting to disbelieve you, and I certainly want to encourage you to convert to Catholicism - but only if that is what you truly wish, and only if you are truly committed to Catholicism.

So I am curious as to what happened in those four days to account for the total and utter backflip.
Me too. Especially given some of the other threads, and the inconsistences pointed out by other posters, to the extent that one thread was closed down.

There’s more going on than we know, I think.

Even if we overlook the confusing statements in other threads started by this poster, and take the story at face value, I can’t help wondering if Zundrah realises that she is not a Catholic just by saying she is. RCIA normally takes some months, surely, even a year, before a candidate is received into the Church and can be called a Catholic.

The RCIA process, sincerely undertaken, involves more steadiness, thought and willingness to study than is realised.

I don’t know but usually folks who want to become Catholic have thought about it for a very long time. For many converts it has been a gradual process that has lead them to the Church over many years before they even think about RCIA classes. Zundrah has just started going to the Catholic Church without realizing what it means what it’s about or what it entails for her to become Catholic. But that’s OK. Your here and we want this transition to be successful for you.
God Bless

Thank you for your support but here is the problem;

…if I say I am catholic, you will say that I am not because I haven’t been in RCIA classes long enough.
If I say that I am protestant, you will have a pop at me for being in a catholic church… well that’s what most here have done…

The thread was closed due to people arguing with me…

Like what? Please explain your self…

I am not a catholic, I am a protestant (methodist to be precise).

Wether I am recieved in the church or not does not change what I believe.
1 - I believe in the pope’s guidance of the holy spirit. eg The scripture; “on this rock”
2 - I believe in the communion of saints and the holy catholic church as being the church that christ chose to preach the message.
The RCIA process, sincerely undertaken, involves more steadiness, thought and willingness to study than is realised.
Not true, I have already made up my mind.

RCIA;

I went into the respery, I greeted the priest (father stephens), we all sat down for coffee. After introducing each other we finally went into the church and he started explaining all the symbols to us, all the statues, all the stain glass images ect. He showed us that there were figures of the saints under the altar table. We were there for quite some time but the other Irish priest was there too, he has retired now but still lives there.

The priest saw how shocked I was to see everyone bowing down to an image on the wall (I didn’t like this so I couldn’t participate in this part…) I couldn’t bow down to it! Any way the priest saw my reaction and so he explained it to me but I wasn’t impressed…but I still didn’t do it. It felt really awkward because I didn’t want to offend him, but I think that he understood and was okay about it…

He was such a really lovely guy though, he was extra kind to me! It’s funny because last sunday at mass he looked so very sad and depressed so I took a candle and lit it under Mary while I said a prayer for his wellbeing. He seemed on top of the world yesterday during RCIA! I’m feeling so much better about the Church now, the Roman Catholic Church (my Church)!

I no longer belong to a stupid denomination that is split off from the pope, but now I have a Roman Catholic Church, yay!
I can’t wait to go again!

Were you in the sanctuary of the church at the time? If so, they were not bowing to an image, but to Christ Himself, who is present in the tabernacle.

I think she just has a hard time explaining things. And we must all be patient and kind to her. Remember guys if we were not Catholic and did not understand look how hard this would be for us.

I have been RC all of my life and still have alot to learn. My Dad told me I will learn until the day I die.

So lets take her at her word, What would Jesus do? He would welcome her home and expect no not expect demand that we be Christlike. Remember Love one another as I have love you.😃

Probally on her first trip she has not realized that Jesus Christ is present in the RCC. It will take time and scripture, and tradition but when she is ready and God is ready to reveal it to her, I am sure she will bow with tears of Joy in her heart. Give her time, and give God time to do his work.👍

No, you were put right on another thread because you said you had tried to receive Holy Communion at Mass and said that nobody had told you that you couldn’t. You said that the priest straightaway said to you when you presented yourself for Holy Communion, ‘You are not a Catholic, are you?’.

So you must have been behaving in a way that showed this. The reason people were so shocked was that evidently you had not done any simple research beforehand as to how to behave at Mass, and the significance of Holy Communion in the Catholic church.

You were not being got at for being in a Catholic church as such.

Yes for sure… and I am very new to all this myself! I’m not judging her by any means, sorry if I gave that impression. I just wanted to make sure she understands, if indeed this was in the sanctuary. I was amazed when I found out about Christ in the tabernacle! 🙂

And exactly why would I do research before I go into a church!!? 🤷

Well evidently I WAS since what else were they digging at me for?

It was on the right hand side of the altar. It seems that no one ever goes up on the altar without first bowing to this object! 🤷 I don’t know what you call it… I even thought that they would be offended 😦 that I didn’t bow, but fortunately they didn’t seem too worried but instead seemed to think it was funny that I was so freaked out! 😃 lol Thank God that the priest was so nice to me!

I understand, and I am sure when she realizes it she will be okay. Remember alot of the CC is things other faiths never understood and have forbidden. It takes time, learning, and alot of questions, and scripture. Then time to that scripture to really sink in. I understand you were not judgeing her and hope you will join in to help her:thumbsup:

Oh Zun, you do make me laugh. You sound pretty young. Are you in your early 20 or so?

Yep got a son 22. See Zun, that’s why I can relate better to you. 😃
Prasie the Lord, some one who understands me at last! 😃 Rinnie you are soooooo nice to me! God bless your soul! :bible1:
