We are not to argue over religion, but to embrace the truth and love one another as he loved us and gave his life for us as a sacrifice through/by the will and grace of the heavenly father GOD.

I do question the reason for your parents severe reaction to the catholic church. It would be apparent that if there is such a hostility that the enemy might have encampment. We are meant to help others and pray for them, we are meant to ultimately love one another as true believers in JESUS CHRIST and affirm that by the very principles of how we respond, act and live.

It is best to avoid controversy and arguments that lead to struggles ; where the enemy might hold us captive. As it is said, “you can lead a horse to water, but you csnnot make it drink.” With GOD the heavenly father all things are possible, but with man it is improbable without GOD though his son lord JESUS.
