If Mary contained any sin at all, she could not contain God within her womb.

Another way to look at it. Jesus took his entire humanity from Mary’s flesh. There was no other human contributor to Jesus’ body. Had there been any sin in Mary, it would have been impossible for the Godhead to unite with her flesh because sin and God cannot unite.

He received none of her blood.

Just wondering if you read his post correctly? Seemed a bit harsh for what was written.

Good point. Sometimes it is easy to miss-read things.

The poster seemed to be saying
a) prayed to Mary as a kid
b) still do
c) even though Protestants object to various doctrines
d) hardly going to be sent to hell for simply praying to Jesus’ mum 👍

It’s not the “same vessel”. (Think about it. The reason abortion is wrong is because it’s not the mother’s “vessel”; it belongs to someone else.)
Now you gonna make a brand new theology… i’d like to see you explain how Mary is not the the same one vessel God used to deliver the Savior into this world.

And how did aboriton get into this picture? Abortion is always wrong.

sorry but you will know more about it.

Thanks you for having known that mary was indeed virgin by the time of birth and knowing that she is the mother of Christ.
I believe that you know all about Jesus and his reason for coming on earth.

mary being the mother of Jesus, it was neccessary for her to be holly. having accepted that she was the mother of Jesus then you are wrong to assert that she could not become a virgin. she had to remain in a state of purification, since where the son of God had passed, there could not pass any other being.

my friend, Mary never had any other son, this is seen from the verses you have even given to me, the garatians, pharazees and the sadducess, calling Jesus the son of Joseph, when actually she never had sexual intercourse with Joseph, already shows the possibility of mentioning the brothers and sisters of Jesus as if they were real in born brothers.

however, we must know that some languages do not have different words for real brother and the cousin brother, especially when we see in the original Greek and hebrew. the name brother may mean cousin brother and not real brother.

still also, we have to know that, catholics do not worship Idols nor statues. this is also seen in their commandments. if one asserts that we should not posses any picture or statue of Mary or a saint, then its like one asserts that our personal pictures and statues are useless and we also serve them.

my dear sister or brother, its not good to attack the catholic church in such a way. all beliefs and dogmas within the catholic church are not just put into account before being examined. the church follows some procudures and it knows al the rules, if one asserts that catholics have been adoring the statues it is the same like saying that no catholic has ever entered life eternal.

my sister, remember Jesus said that my brothers, keep praying for one another. then I ask you, if we people who are very far limited can pray for one another, then why not request one above to pray for us. when we say that once a person should not request a saint or Mary to pray for him, its like accepting that there are no saints in Heaven, and if there are there, we limit the promises made by the lord Jesus before his death. he promised his disciples and mary that they would be together in Heaven.

I have discovered that many people have failed to understand the catholic church because they don`t know the origin of the bible. please venture into the origin of the bible and you will know that the catholic church being the first church to use the bible and make all the books in the bible it cannot contradict it.

know the powers of the pope and the way he comes to be the pope, then you will know the powers of him telling us to follow any faith and we ought to do as long as we are here on Earth.

remember that the pope it the representative of Jesus on Earth.

I hope you can also consult me for more questions on mubangizialex@yahoo.com

may God bless you.

You (and maybe those doctors) need to read about Rhesus syndrome.

bellybelly.com.au/articles/Pregnancy/rhesus-negative-pregnancy.

If a baby has rhesus positive blood and the mother rhesus negative, there are health implications - because some of those fetal blood cells do indeed find their way into the mother’s blood stream and the mother can develop antibodies to them, which causes health problems for mom and bub 😦

So yes, mother’s and baby’s blood do mingle during pregnancy, at least a little. Otherwise how could the blood type of one possibly affect the health of the other?

Even if this were not the case, however, Jesus is nonetheless flesh of Mary’s flesh, as every child is of their mother.

Put it this way - normal human children will take half their DNA (genetic material) from mother, half from father, and mingle it in a unique combination to form their own DNA. Of course you can determine who any child’s biological mother and father are by comparing their DNA to the child’s, so the child certainly has fleshly contributions from both parents.

In Jesus’ case of course His Father HAS no DNA - God the Father not being human He doesn’t - so logically Jesus has only one person’s DNA - Mary’s. Possibly 100% of His DNA was Mary’s, in any event at least half 🤷 So He definitely took flesh from her.

You assume to much. I left the church not to join a 21st century protestant church. It seems I have lost my religion.
I thought the same as you once, and thought I must leave. But He changed my mind. I thought this Catholic focus on Mary was against the truth. I thought I knew the truth. What I didn’t do was place enough trust in Him to teach me the fuller truth. I thought praying the Rosary would send me to hell. I now have many Mary statues and He got me to see what I was hell bent on not willing to see, and that was His Mother and who she was and what he wanted me to see.

Don’t leave. Give Him some time to teach you a bit more. Find some patience and place it in his hands. Nothing anyone said to me, or quoted me or what I read on Mary did anything. If nothing anyone here is reaching you, then please just ask Him direct to help you understand Mary a bit more and her place in the Catholic Church. Bit by bit he showed me, and I’d love you to give yourself a bit of time to allow Him to show you what he showed me.

This is absolutely true. We routinely test Rh negative mothers’ blood for fetal-maternal bleed so that the proper medication dose can be determined to prevent the production of mother’s antibodies against the baby.

I have recently left the church because of this issue. I hope someone can prove me wrong.

The Catholic Church believes that Mary is sacred and holy. They have statues of Mary in their churches, even though this is against God’s commandment. Exodus 20:4-5 “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them…” They pray to Mary. Nowhere in the Bible does it tell us to pray to Mary, or any other person, but it tells us only to pray to God the Father. Matthew 6:6 “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” They pray to Mary because they believe that she intercedes for us. This is not supported by any Scripture, but Scripture states that Jesus intercedes for us. Hebrews 7:25 “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” Romans 8:34 “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”

Without a doubt Mary was a blessed woman, but she was not perfect. Catholics believe that Mary never sinned. Again, this is not supported by any Scripture. Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” There is only one person that never sinned, and that person is Jesus. Hebrews 4:15 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet was without sin.” 1 John 3:5 “And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.” 1 Peter 2:22 “‘He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.’”

They believe that Mary was always a virgin, and had no children other than Jesus. Matthew 13:55-56 “Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?” Mark 3:31 “There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.” Matthew 12:46 “While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.” Catholics argue that when the Bible refers to brothers of Jesus, that these are spiritual brothers and not blood relatives. The following verses make a clear distinction between spiritual and blood brothers: Luke 8:19-21 “Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. Someone told him, ‘Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.’ He replied, ‘My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.’” Jesus’ spiritual brothers are the ones who hear God’s word and put it into practice. Catholics also believe that Jesus used the word “brethen” or “brothers” when referring to His disciples. This is true in some cases, but in the following verses there is a definite distinction between Jesus’ brothes and His disciples. John 2:12 “After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.” John 7:3 “His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.”
It sounds as though you’re using the Bible to attack the Church, when in fact it was the Church that gave us the Bible, in the first place. The Church came first, then the Bible, and that’s a historical fact.

On Mary, I agree some Catholics go overboard in their devotion to her. They tend to forget their proper focus (just my opinion). That alone shouldn’t have been enough to cause you to leave the Church. You must have had other, ‘deeper’ issues.

So, evidently they are separated after the placenta forms, but it doesn’t form immediately.

Hence, one could easily assume that the blood of the mother nourishes the baby in the womb - directly nourishes it prior to the formation of the placenta, and indirectly after the formation.

In as few words as possible, we should pray as Catholics doubly to Mary because of how wrong, protestants that don’t even follow Martin Luther’s devotion to Mary, who have little foundation or connection or TRADITION to the Bible distort and abuse the Bible down to taking 5 books out of it, Sirach, Maccabees, Wisdom etc. Having grown up in the Bible belt, it is wrong what these people do.

i’d like to see you explain how Mary is not the the same one vessel God used to deliver the Savior into this world.
You misunderstand what I was saying. The issue is about sin and God being in the “same vessel” (body). Mary and Jesus did not share the same body; Mary being a sinner has no bearing on Christ being sinless.
protestants that don’t even follow Martin Luther’s devotion to Mary
It wasn’t “Martin Luther’s” devotion to Mary; the doctrine came from the Catholic Church.

Mary said “Do whatever He tells you”
Jesus said “Come to Me”

Jesus’ body was being made out of the flesh of Mary’s body - what she ate, he ate. What she felt, he felt. Her cells were being drawn from and duplicated, to make the cells that formed His body. If her cells were full of sin, then it would not have been appropriate to have made the body of Jesus out of them. It was fitting, therefore, that Mary was without sin, so that the cells of her body that were given and duplicated to form the body of Jesus, were also without sin. 🙂

Didn’t the entirety of Jesus’ humanity come from Mary? Would it be fair to say that jesus was created from the egg of mary combined with the holy spirit? If so, how could mary have had any original sin? Wouldn’t anything that is joined with the lord have to be spiritually pure?

Jesus Hates Sin: God could not be in a Tabernacle that has sin in it, an Ark of the New Covenant which is impure. Mary was the Ark of the New Covenant. This is either like the early heresies or protestant heresies more like blasphemy. One should not relate such theories which are only hatched in 1850 America and is unrelated to the Church Jesus Christ established 2000 years ago. God’s word does not merit a haphazard interpretation, a lot of this has Judaic roots as well. - catholicculture.org/culture/library/view.cfm?id=6811&CFID=20541902&CFTOKEN=77687728

These words are scripturally blind as well.

“You misunderstand what I was saying. The issue is about sin and God being in the “same vessel” (body). Mary and Jesus did not share the same body; Mary being a sinner has no bearing on Christ being sinless.”- thrufaithalone

Are you saying they were Jehovah’s Witnesses?

We know Lutheran, a Protestant had a Devotion to Mary and there is even some Marianism in the Lutheran Faith today but it should be much stronger. We know Martin Luther continued to say the Rosary.

I’m not sure about blood specifically, but certainly cells transfer between the mother and fetus. It’s called micro-chimerism. Not only does the mother pass cells to the fetus, but, and this is what blows me away, the fetus transfers cells to the mother. Not only that, but those cells are present for the rest of her life. So, interestingly, the only genetic remnants of Jesus after he died were in fact, within Mary. (which, to me, suggests that she, also, had to be assumed into heaven, rather than get there the same way the rest of us would, but that’s another can of worms)

Well said! (pssst! but remember to capitalize letters of the names of the Holy Trinity)

Just one thing here. Jesus was not created. We refer to this event as His Incarnation. At His conception, the Word of God entered Time, by her express consent took flesh from the Virgin Mary, whether it was one of her eggs, or like Adam’s rib, some other flesh and became man.

If Mary’s flesh had any taint of sin whatsoever, Godhead would not have been able to unite with it to form Jesus’ human body because sin cannot exist in God.

This was a special grace granted only to Mary among all humans born since Adam and Eve. Now grace may not be merited, but God must surely think very highly of her and be very pleased with her since He chose her to be His Mother.

If God thinks that highly of her, that’s good enough for me to grant her the highest esteem among humans. (more than good enough, actually)
