I don’t believe that the Quran is the Word of God. I’m not asking you to believe that the Bible is (which it is) but after being subjected to a deluge of attacks on the Bible by posters like freedomm, I think it is only fair to allow the Quran the same scrutiny.

By the way, many people have converted to Christianity after reading the Bible. That is why you will find articles like the one freedomm provided a while back which said the Bible is being stored in closets at a hospital in England now when they once were placed bedside. Non-Christians complained - too many people were being exposed to the Word of God and converting - which they felt was out of place in a public hospital.
yes converted from atheism or other crazy dogmas to Christianity… i am talking about Christians that converted to Islam. and yes there are Muslims that converts to Christianity but most of them have reasons that has nothing to do with Islam, such as they were abused as kids and their abusers were Muslim, etc…

That’s bs muslim. Some convert because they really begin to understand who Jesus is and realize that God is love. On the other hand Christians are often forced to convert to Islam out of fear of beheading or poor girls who are raped and told to convert and marry or be dishonored. We don’t have to make people join our faith.

I spent some time reading and thinking about this thread.

It appears that Islam is commited to violence if necessary to foster conversion. Death to the unbeliever is always an option. Ridgid instruction, strict punishment, God as Master and more, control the followers in their own blindness, and are actually curses to Muslims.

But I have to admit, that at times my distain for what I perceive as the evil of Islam causes the same base human vice/thoughts… they must be stopped - even if violence is necessary. I then remember that Free will, Divine Mercy and repentance, God’s grace, and God as Father are gifts to Christians.

Thankfully I can stop that thinking as they do , when I remember I have to follow Christ so violence is not the option. Islam follows Muhammad, so violence is always the option.

While we spend our time just challenging them… countries like France with their high unemployment and high taxes are ripe for the picking by Islam… just as the world was when the false prophet Muhammad walked the earth.

Islam will flourish by tempting the oppressed into a false theology… as it has for centuries. And the followers are actually convinced they are doing their God’s bidding.

We Catholics better realize that they are doing just that… and it is evil. If we give in , we are dead to Christ… and that death is NOT an option. for me.

well didn’t Jesus say they will persecute us thinking they are doing for God but in fact they know neither the Father nor the Son? and didnt Jesus say that as they persecuted Him, they will persecute us? and didn’t Jesus say that whatever they do to us is like doing it to Him? Jesus will judge.

Muslim:
read it, its horrible… it comes NOWHERE close to the Qu’ran nor everyone would have converted.
What do you mean? The Quran is haphazardly arranged, if you call it “arranged” at all. There are abrogated verses. Most of the “gentle” verses have been abrogated by your prophet in favor of the sword verses. As to being horrible, take off all the sword verses and all the abrogated verses and you are left with a big gaping NOTHINGNESS.

there is no point… any verse we put, he is just going to bash it…
Exactly! Now I wonder if you ever tell Muslims the same thing when they post the exact same ridiculous challenge over and over??

Back to my challenge. I give Muslims till tomorrow to meet it or admit defeat. Put up or shut up. After this you will not be able to honestly use this argument against us ever again.

Okay folks. I gave the Muslims every opportunity. I issued their own challenge in reverse. They have failed to meet it. Therefore, I declare that Christianity wins. No Muslim text of any kind, including the quran, matches the gospels. How could it? The quran is the word of a mere man. But Jesus is the Word of God himself. So don’t feel bad Muslims. You lost to God not me.

I don’t want to see any of you trot out your version of this challenge again. If you do I will remind you of this thread and your loss. Cest knows best.

I declare that not really anyone took part in this stupid “test” and it was totally ridiculous and absurd anyway.

Then the fact that Muslims claim no-one can write as beautifully as the Quran and issue the exact same ‘challenge’ is stupid and totally ridiculous and absurd as well, yes? That was the point cestusdei was trying to make.

Sigh…it’s something called “parody”. A way to make a point by showing how absurd the other sides arguments appear. I took a common Muslim argument and simply reversed it. You took the bait and said it was unfair. Voila, my point is proven and down goes one argument for the quran. The idea is to make the other person rethink their way of reasoning or lack thereof. It worked very well in this case.
