What are you hinting at Teflon my friend?
I am not hinting at anything, MFM.

In my opinion, the key issue anti-Catholics have with the Church is the notion of obedience to the Pope. While the Orthodox do not follow the Pope, they do have a stronger sense of the need for obedience within their faith than most Protestants do, whether mainline Protestants or evangelical and Fundamentalist Protestants. Mainline Protestants tend to abhor dogma, while the Orthodox have always treasured it. Evangelical and Fundamentalist Protestants do not much care for hierarchy; the Orthodox respect it.

Thus, I think any Protestant who elects to become Orthodox would need to conquer the very same obstacle they would were they to become Catholic—obedience in faith.

Whether one crosses the Tiber or the Hellespont, the swimming will be tough going unless one’s attitude toward obedience is adjusted.

Hopefully this is explicit enough. 😉

What is meant by “basic” Cathesis?

It sure does not sound “basic” reading this.

Where do you get this from?

Acts 11:26
and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch And for an entire year they met with the church and taught considerable numbers; and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
where did the church start Jon? it wasn’t Antioch, yes that was one of the earliest churches, but it was not the 1st.

I don’t see where in the Bible there is any reference to the Church as “The Way.”

in Jesuralem on pentecost day in the upper room when the HS came upon them and many came to believe.

hope this answer your question.

the 1st church wasn’t even called Christian, it was called “the way” do you have a point to make or not?
Christ said He was the way thus adjective “way” (to the Father ) thus followers of Christ thus Christians, adjective and noun.
What’s **your **point?
