I’m curious when I think about what makes the most difference in the world I’m stuck between a religious life as a priest or a life of making money to give to the poor.

Say for example I became a billionaire I could buy a million bibles and spread the word of God

On the other hand

Would becoming a priest and talking to 100 same people every week be as beneficial.

In St Faustina book she saved many souls through prayer but how much souls in comparison to how much souls you’d save by being a billionaire and spreading the word through the world.

My greatest job in this world is to bring as many souls as humanly possible to heaven after I learnt the truth.

Should I
1.Becoming wealthy and use the wealth to spread the word of God and live a righteous life

2.become a priest and pray for people all day

You should ask God what his will is for your life. Then do what he asks.

If God wants you to be a priest, I guarantee you that that is where you will have the greatest impact.

I have asked I just don’t know what he wants from me I can’t tell the difference between liking the idea of becoming a priest and God telling me his will.

I must do a nine day novena and ask God for me to know and do his will to help as much people to heaven as humanly possible and heavenly possible!

I have some ideas on how to convert and help people but it all involves money and I get confused because Jesus asks people to sell all the possessions and follow him not store up wealth and follow him.

But having money gives you the ability to change the world dramatically for example giving a bible to someone could change there life dramatically so multiply this by a million and money really seems to be the answer !

I feel like becoming a priest is the safe option for myself getting to heaven but becoming wealthy is the option to helping a million people or more get to heaven !

Have you considered contacting you diocese vocations office and asking for a spiritual director? If you think you have a vocation to the priesthood they will help you sort it out.

You sound as though you are a young person. Concentrate on not following the crowd - stand out by your good morals and kindness

“Let your light so shine before men that they see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Your personal witness, your joy, your compassion, your charity.

I have a spirtual director interested in being a Franciscan but not sure is this my will because I choose this our Gods will.

I love the Jewish people for the devotion to God so my dream is to go to Israel Jerusalem and be a Franciscan there.

I feel if I go to Jerusalem do and not make money it will make minimum difference to people !

Even if you do not become a priest, nor become rich, you can have a great impact on lives. You may only impact one life, and it still brings Glory to God. Don’t let pride get in your way, but submit to God’s will and he will guide you.

This is exactly the sort of thing your spiritual director should be able to help you with.

A lot of Catholics seem to have things backwards for some reason… probably because of misconceptions of sin and obedience…

While it is true humans are subject at birth to original sin and then temptations beyond our baptism… God also gave us free will to cooperate with Him, as well as to forgive one another our trespasses…

These are inalienable qualities of human dignity, and you cannot separate them for our existence as humans.

In granting us an infinite number of eternal blessings while upholding the first commandment, however - God expects us to pass it all along to each other in the second commandment…

The problem seems to be - people have trouble going from A to B because they fail to recognize that as the absolute fulfillment of Christ’s own apostolic mission… In other words, people love God, but they tend to become selfish about the first commandment… They often enjoy the freedom of basking in God’s glory… But the whole motion remains unformed in terms of the second commandment…

Try to “share” with others, and you’ll quickly understand the woman at the well’s question - “Who are you, a Jew, to talk to me, a Samaritan woman?”

But - the fact is - freedom will only ultimately exist when we recognize who it is we are talking to in prayer, and then share it with each other… as Christ did that lady…

Until then it seems like we just tend to sojourn in a sort of slavish contentment of the first commandment… It’s not necessarily bad, but it’s just extremely limited… But show people the immense benefits and graces of Christ’s blessings, simply by cooperating with God, and they’ll be drinking from the fountain regularly…

It takes a lot of forgiveness, though… the key to it all is above all MERCY… 🙂

Speaking as somebody who was once young:
  • forget being a billionaire because you’re likely going to be more concerned with just paying your own bills and it will be more difficult than you’re thinking it is
  • if you have a call to the priesthood or religious life, then this sort of comparison will likely be the last thing on your mind
  • you’re unlikely to take just one path in life anyway, so unless you feel a call just choose something and get on with it

A call to be a priest is to serve God and the point of serving God is to bring the most amount of people to the truth as possible…

I noticed that the reason don’t help as much people as possible is because they set a seriously low bar for example God says you don’t get because you don’t ask and if you do ask you don’t get because you ask for your own desires.

I’m curious that if I followed Gods path and asked him according to his law would he help me bring people to him in huge numbers like I said most people don’t ask this of God so Iike it says in the word of God. Ask and you shall receive

The other thing people don’t do is seek God with all there heart it is said in the Bible that if you do this you will find God

Seeking with all heart is fasting, praying, crying, mourning, giving alms

I have yet to meet or hear of one person who has fasted and cried out to God and did not hear from him so that seems to be the standard to get in touch with him !

Jeremiah 29:13

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart”

If I can get Gods trust I can get God to change the world for the better and save millions I won’t do it under my own work but only through him.

I need a legal agreement with God for him to help me help others and for him to give me great knowledge on how to do this!
