For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the Gift of God

Not as a result of works so that no one may boast

Ephesians 2:8-9
Funny the way Protestants always stop with Verse 9. Read Verse 10.

10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Wow! We are created for good works. Don’t you find that amazing?

Grace, faith and works together. Not by “faith alone.”

I think from reading St Faustina book the answer is in it why God only visits certain people you must make great sacrifice and obediance to be in contact with God as far as I can tell !

That seems contrary to many stories I have heard of signs from God. I could see that explanation for those that hear prophesy or doctrinal corrections but not the day to day stories of signs? Am I incorrect? Have only especially Holy people the only ones that have heard from God in some way?

Should I
1.Becoming wealthy and use the wealth to spread the word of God and live a righteous life

2.become a priest and pray for people all day
Neither. Just work on doing God’s will in your life amidst the people and circumstances you encounter, being sanctified through a process of unmaking, uprooting and removing everything from your heart that separates you from a God. The pride, the lust, the pretentiousness, the false masks, etc.

Becoming a billionaire is not so easy. You would have to think carefully about how to go about it. If you succeeded, you could give a lot of money away and not even miss it. I often thought it would be nice to have money to save animals from cruelty and homelessness, open an animal sanctuary, give lots of money to charities. Money is power.

But I think asking God what He thinks is a good idea since He’s got more power than anyone. Being a priest could be the best way because you could tell God what you would like to do and changes you’d like to implement, and He would probably lead you to where He wants you.

@Pattylt, one doesn’t have to be especially holy to hear from God. Nor does one, as @John121 errantly claims, have to make great sacrifice and obedience to hear from Him. If they did, many of those who have experienced Him wouldn’t have.

Take Saul, who later became Paul, for one. He certainly wasn’t being holy or obedient to God when he was cheating people and killing them. And he definitely wasn’t expecting to meet Jesus on the road to Damascus. But when he did, it changed his life forever.

I would have to read the rules again about sharing personal experiences one has had with God. For now, I will just say that both my mother and I have personally experienced Him and those experiences served to deepen our faith. (My mother, then 81, has shared her experience with only 2 priests and me.)

So yes, even in today’s modern age, people can and do experience God.

Yes, @lilypadrees, I was pretty sure that holiness wasn’t a requirement. I’ve heard too many stories from very ordinary people of their experiences. It’s one of the issues I have with God.

I think John121 is very young and enthusiastic and needs to mature a bit and watch what he claims. He is headed for a major disappointment that could lead to a collapse of faith if he isn’t careful.

The thing is that it’s not about what you want to do for God, but about how God might see fit to use you. Rather than you personally leading millions to Christ, God could choose to have you fall into miserable circumstances. You might be the beggar that moves the heart of a stranger and ultimately it is them who converts and becomes the charismatic priest or military chaplain that inspires a victory.

At 27, he’s very young emotionally and has a lot to learn, that’s for sure. Maturity comes from accepting and dealing with the responsibilities of life which I doubt he’s anywhere near ready for.

As it is written there is none righteous not even one

Romans 3:10

Jesus said to him I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the Father but through Me

John 14:6
This is all true, but not “alone”
James 2: 14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

You seriously need to read what the Bible says and who appeared to God Saul was chosen by God but what you are asking is for him to reach you which requires to be as holy as a saint any one who says other wise is lying if you want to hear his voice as clear as day or another experience 99% of the time unless he chooses you first you must seek him with all your heart which is what the saints did!
