Meatless Friday
Oh, the sacrifices we make on ‘Meatless Friday’…I’d eat that any day…

A nice salad, Swedish meatballs with parsley buttered noodles, a fresh rye roll, and a good Canadian brew…pineapple sherbet for dessert.
[We seem to be having the same weather…I live in Northeast Ohio.]

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

It was kind of a sacrifice for me.

There was some lobster tails and corn on the cob for the fourth. I was tempted to eat some of that.

My family is having a virtual barbecue this Fourth of July, so I splurged on some lobster tails.

Not anymore…we grew up a quarter of a mile from the lake…moved to ‘the sticks’, 30 miles south of the lake many years ago…a bit cooler away from all the big buildings and pavement. My sister can see the lake from her back yard, but I get claustrophobic when we visit because the houses are so close together.

Semi-homemade personal size pizza – ready-made flatbread for the crust, low-sodium marinara for the sauce, sprinkling of Italian herb mix, crushed red pepper flakes, and pecorino romano cheese, followed by shredded mozzarella. Toppings were sliced baby bella mushrooms, onions, and garlic seasoned with salt, pepper, and thyme, and sauteed in extra virgin olive oil.

Spicy shrimp Ramen with green onions and diced Spam.

Italian rainbow cookies

Peach nectarine soda

We had hot dogs and hamburgers, beans, roasted little potatoes, and corn on the cob. For dessert, a “trifle” with strawberries and blueberries, vanilla pudding, pound cake and cool whip. 😋

Er… that same old almond-yogurt protein bar (well, a different one, but the same thing) and a cup of coffee. Sheesh. I really need some variety to my breakfast!

Hit Subway on the way home from the Vigil Mass…
Meatball sandwich deluxe on herbs & cheese bread [footlong, extra meatballs] with provolone, parmesan, onions, banana peppers, black olives, spinach, and a splash of Italian dressing…and a good Canadian brew…and a very good cigar and an IPA afterwards.

The heat wave continues…got out the smoker, and did some ribs and Italian sausage…enough to last a few days…

Barbecued ribs, smoked Italian sausage, potato salad, pan-fried zucchini, a fresh [still-warm-from-the-oven] wheat roll, and a good Canadian brew…cherry-lemon sherbet for dessert. Looking forward to another good cigar…

I live near the lake, which I think is contributing to the humidity.
