Great 🙂 Not too long to wait then Lily .
Funny your mamma’s cravings, she must instinctivly know what’s good for her.I keep forgetting to buy Silverbeet…I’m craving it at present ,I must be really needing leafy greens.I feel good when I eat lots of it.
I had some Silverside beef before, that my mum cooked or Corned Beef as it might be known. She makes a lovely mustard sauce to go with it.😋

She knows what she likes. She’s having leftover meatloaf and mashed potatoes for lunch. MiO water to drink.

I had 2 pcs of strawberry shortcake and some fruit loops. Mountain Dew (original) to drink. I don’t usually crave cereal. But they had a good deal at the store - a 2 fer and get a dollar off. So it only cost 99 cents for both of them.

Hit a local fish fry…

A good salad, fried catfish, potato-and-cheese pierogis with grilled onions, and a good lager…

Veal chops in a mushroom filled sauce, on a bed of polenta. Roasted and seasoned asparagus for those that like it. (Not me, I just cook it for others. ☺️) Glass of cold tap water.

I plan to eat more sensibly tomorrow when I’m well rested. Will probably have yogurt for breakfast. (I make my own.)

Today tho, I worked myself harder than I should have. I just love working with my ax. It’d go faster with my saws. But the ground hasn’t finished drying after all that rain. And I didn’t want to wait any longer or risk falling.

Mama had Boost. She saw how tired I was (a good kind of tired, accomplished) and said to just open her Boost and then go to bed.

Mahi Mahi on a citrus and crab meat salad, with a glass of 14 Hands Merlot. 😋

I had some pancakes and sausages on a stick.

I’m currently drinking some cold raspberry Hint fruit water.

Clam chowder; tuna salad, cheese, and lettuce on a fresh wheat roll, and a decent red ale…fresh pineapple and homemade ginger snaps for dessert.

Was going to have fish tonight. But the oven burned out during the preparation. So it’s Mountain Dew and whatever I can scrounge up that doesn’t need cooking. 😭

Ohh,hope you can get it fixed Lily?
I’m just having a cup of tea with some rice crackers spread with peanut butter 😋

Sadly, it can’t be fixed and will have to be replaced. The problem is, we don’t have the money to do that right now. The one month + government shutdown (Dec 2018 - Jan 2019) really did a number on our finances. We’re still recovering from that.

So it’s going to be sandwiches and whatever I can make in the air fryer and on the griddle I bought last month when the oven started going out. (Top heating element wasn’t heating properly but bottom element was still usable.)

Grocery shopping is going to be interesting for awhile. Will have to redo my list now that all burners and heating elements have bitten the dust.

Will try to make fried eggs and sausage for Mama’s breakfast. I have yogurt for myself. Mama says she can eat her canned veggies cold til pay day. Thawing only enough items for each day. Playing it cautious.

I wonder if you could purchase a reconditioned stove? :thinking:I’ve bought appliances at second hand places that have been mended and approved of and come with a warranty (washing machines, refrigerators)

Mama vetoed that when I suggested it to her. We’ll keep an eye on sales and hopefully, get it replaced soon.

As long as we have other things to use, we’ll be okay. My air fryer and griddle will take care of most meals for now.

At least, the oven died when we were low on groceries. So TV dinners aren’t piled up in the freezer. I’ll shop this week.

If it is an electric stove, the element can easily be replaced. You wouldn’t need a new stove.

Yes, it’s electric. But unfortunately, the elements for this particular stove aren’t being made anymore. So there’s no way to get out of replacing it with something more up to date. It’s been a good one.

Mama would have us out looking today if it weren’t Sunday. Not to mention that nothing can be done without the funds to pay for it. (Tax refund is already spoken for.)
