Love it!!!

A nice salad, ham and scalloped potatoes, a fresh rye roll, and a good IPA…still-warm-from-the-oven nut roll for dessert…

I have no idea. Maybe just to see what I can handle in taste and texture. Remember, he said I could start off my solid foods with mashed potatoes. And I wasn’t able to eat them. He recommended the TV dinners after that but had me wait additional time.

I’ve been very careful since those early days of recovery. There are still a lot of vegetables I have a problem with. But I’m trying. And having him clear rice after so many months of, “No, you can’t have that” is a good sign. I love rice. And the diced apples were a taste of Heaven.

I feel safe with fish. I may eat that throughout Lent. Yum!!!

A bowl of oatmeal, a piece of spelt and honey toast, and my large mug of plain strong tea.

Scrambled egg, fried tomato and bacon …and a cup of coffee.:fried_egg::coffee:🍅

Turkey Tetrazzini and Propel water. Mama’s having cake and MiO water.

Potluck dinner after the Vigil Mass…

Kielbasa and sauerkraut, three different versions of lasagna, [all very good!] macaroni and cheese, Reuben casserole, and pozole with green chiles…water to drink.
There were many desserts, but I had to pass on them…

I love my parish!!

We had a power failure due to the windstorm here [Northeast Ohio], and dinner was in the oven…with the electric ignition, the oven wouldn’t work…Barb finished the dinner on the stovetop, and it still came out awesome…
A nice salad, meatloaf, and mac-and-cheese, washed down with cold well water…coconut shortbread for dessert.

[The power came back on two hours later…]

Did you have flooding? We got it here in TN. Worst since the May 2010 flood. We’ve also now set the record for the wettest Feb ever. And we still have a week to go.

Eating Wendy’s salad, a cheeseburger and drinking Dr Pepper. Mama had a slice of chocolate cake and some Boost.

There was some isolated flooding when we had a thaw a couple weeks ago, but this is just wind…the temperature dropped from low 50’s to below freezing, and the wind is predicted to continue for another 12-18 hours…

We had rain for several days with yesterday and last night being the worst with storms, hail, tornadoes and flooding. Good thing they opened shelters.

Mass was cancelled today as there was flooding not only on the street but also in the Church and school. We lost 2 parishioners in the 2010 flood. They were on the way to Mass before Father’s call came telling everyone not to venture out. Too dangerous. This time, we had plenty of warning.

A good day to stay in and not get in harm’s way. And of course, let others do the cooking.

Yeah, this weather is so unpredictable for all of us, isn’t it?

I think that we all get similar weather in the Midwest.

I’m in Wisconsin, and we have similar weather. We have that same windy cold front that moved through today, and the temps. have dropped. It’s 18 degrees F. outside right now, and it’s going to be cold like this on and off outside this week. It will be in the 20’s F. this week, and then back in the teens F. next weekend.

Brrr…

We had left over pork roast with leftover roasted veggies for our dinner tonight.

I also made some salads for us, and I served some extra Au Gratin potatoes on the side.

I’ve been drinking cold bottled spring water.

Tonight’s supper: cufte, djuvec, kupus i sargarepa and hurmasice.😀

@boldlygo, Mama met a Bosnian refugee woman 25 years ago who came to America to become a dr. They became fast friends despite the then language barrier. These are dishes from our Bosnian friend’s homeland.

Cufte - meatballs
Djuvec - rice w vegetables mixed in
Kupus I Sargarepa - coleslaw like salad
Hurmasice - a soft cake-like cookie

So last night, we not only ate Bosnian dishes but also listened to Bosnian music and stories. It was a wonderful evening.
