What’s normal to eat here can certainly be considered weird elsewhere. Nevertheless, it is normal here. And it’s a two-way street—plenty of what Americans think is normal food would never be consumed by many Europeans and Asians.

Not wanting to make anyone uncomfortable, however, I guess I’ll just stop posting in this thread. :wave:t3:

Oh, no. You don’t get off that easy. I love seeing those recipes. They appeal to my adventurous culinary spirit.

Now get back to posting them. Or I will sick the kitties on you. And they will not share the comfy chair.😜

Date night…
Chips and salsa/pico de gallo, la oaxaquena [steak strips grilled with bacon, ham, and poblano peppers, topped with cheese], rice, and charro beans…and a tall Dos Equis Ambar.

Lobster bisque, salt and pepper chips or crisps if you’re from the UK or Australia

I’m squeamish about things that squeeme!

I had a slice of brown bread with marmite. (Also a pain au chocolate, it was twenty pence that’s about…nothing in the UK) and coffee, two sugars.

I had an Egg McMuffin, 3 hash browns and a medium cup of hot coffee with all the sugar and cream I could get in there.

We went out to lunch for Mexican food. My husband had fajitas and I had beef nachos.
He drank Corona and I splurged and had a glass of sparkling wine. 😋

Could you fill us in on the foods Americans eat that wouldn’t be consumed there? It’s an interesting thought.

One example I could think of is peanut butter.

A lot of Europeans don’t like it.

Another is grits.

Another example is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Waffles and chicken also comes to mind.
