Certainly not 🙂 I grew up having soft drink only on celebratory days ,and now prefer water thank Goodness.Youve done very well to get your diet in order. Its very difficult in the beginning going on a specialised diet.
My youngest son had severe eczema for some time…
he was like our canary in the mine, letting us know which foods were damaging as he would have slight reactions to many colourings and preservatives ,additives.
Sorry, I don’t have any likes left.

The staple in my diet is a completely vegetarian soup that keeps weight off and is supposed to ward off cancer and diabetes. My oldest brother had type 2 diabetes, and within two months of eating this soup, he was off metformin and his blood sugar has normalized, so I know it can work for that. That soup is usually my dinner.
What’s in this miracle soup? Sounds like something that could help me with my weight issues.

I can send you the recipe, Lily, or post it here later. I know one woman who lost 20 lbs. the first week she had it daily for dinner. A doctor wrote the recipe for his overweight patients. You do have to give up the fattening stuff, though. I never did eat candy, cakes, etc. For me, the hard thing was cheese and Italian dishes, but I don’t miss them much now.

3 raw eggs in a cup.

Lemon, lime, honey, ginger & garlic beverage, drank hot.

The water heater will be here today. Plumber had a lot of appts that went well into the night. I’m usually in bed early. So I called and asked that he come back today. I was about to keel over at 6:30pm from exhaustion. (I’m usually in bed between 4:30pm and 5pm in Regular Time. No problems staying awake during Daylight Savings Time due to the extreme heat.)

Anyway, I actually have an appetite this morning. Not sure what I’m going to have. But Mama will finish off her apple pie. And hopefully, tomorrow, we’ll be able to cook again.

Either one is fine, ConstantLearner. I won’t have a problem giving up fattening things. After all, Lent begins soon. And by the time it’s over, the things I’ve given up won’t be a part of my diet anymore. Things like Italian dishes will probably be eliminated due to the tomatoes. Cheese, I do love. But it’s not part of my everyday diet. (Will be during Lent tho unless I have my surgery during that time in which case, I’d be off all solid foods for 3 weeks after.)

I hope so! Not having a water heater is rough. I thought I went to bed early, around eight or nine. You’ve got me beat. 😉 I get up between three and five, depending on when I go to bed.

Oatmeal and whole wheat toast for me today.

Oh, dear! This soup has tomatoes! But you can use low acid ones. If you can’t tolerate it, you can try it for weight after your surgery, which I hope is soon! Can’t be any fun not feeling your best! Sending positive thoughts! Did you ever try aloe vera juice? Though I don’t think much would help if your stomach isn’t in irs proper place. Gaviscon, maybe?

My maternal grandmother used to go to the bed at 5pm (late for her was 5:30pm). I’ve always been an “early to bed, early to rise” kind of gal. I love the quiet solitude of the early mornings.

I may make a grilled cheese sandwich or have some Ensure. If I eat too much, I’ll be tempted to go back to sleep. And I still have to get all that food out of the office cabinet before our plumber comes. Going to get the kitchen floor mopped and dried. (Leaky water heaters stink.) Get the fur babies fed. And I will postpone that nervous breakdown I’ve been meaning to schedule due to feeling like a chicken with its head cut off this past week worrying about where all that water was coming from. Scheduling happy dance instead.

Mama says we can have pizza for Super Bowl Sunday. She’ll have a red pizza. I’ll have a white pizza. Hers will be pepperoni while mine will be Philly Cheese Steak. Last hurrah before Lent begins.

We’ll find some low acid tomatoes for the soup until I can grow them myself. I’m not going to give up my 'maters entirely. I think if I use moderation, I should be okay. I’ll have Lowe’s or the Farmer’s Market point me to the right plants… Need my 'mater sammies. After all, Summer just isn’t the same without them. And a lot of soups do call for them.

Mama’s having low sodium V8 with her apple pie. She says it makes her feel better.

Oh, and I love aloe vera juice. A lot of people don’t. But it makes me feel energetic.

Gaviscon is one thing that doesn’t work on me at all. I can’t believe that after my surgery, I’ll be off of those acid reflux/GERD meds. That will save a lot of money.

That is terrific! 🙂
I like to do my work (PR) early in the day. The Internet part of it. I meet with clients later.

There’s an aloe vera juice that we buy occassionaly here,it’s absolutely beautiful:) It has some honey to flavour and tastes exotic.

Ooo…that sounds delish.

I’m going to have a slice of cheese and some seltzer water. It’ll give me just enough energy to get things finished before our plumber comes. Just hate these cold temps. I’ve got to get these towels washed and dried since he’ll probably cut off the electricity as well while connecting the water heater. Yeah, it’s electric not gas.

My husband had to replace his water heater In the last few weeks Lily.
How would you manage if the powere goes out (heaven forbid) ?

There are heating stations people can go to if the temps drop below a certain point and there is a loss of power. We’ve been without power before. Ice storm and because we’re on a hill, we were forgotten. (Those on the other side of our street had their power back very quickly.) I got tired of it one day and phoned the electric company using everyone’s number on our side of the street. We had our power back on by nightfall.

Great results Lily 😄 A woman of action.
When I worked overseas once ,I had to do a chore in the bitter wind and wondered how long till I perished…it was that cold.
Heating stations ,I’m glad people are taken care of when they are vulnerable .

They started them for the homeless. Now they’re open to anyone who doesn’t have heat or power. They also have them for pets since many won’t leave if their pets aren’t able to be warm also.

I wonder if many countries have them?
It would be quite homely with all the pets there 😄

We have those too one of which is the public library, which has its’ own generator for emergencies, lots of space and chairs etc etc there.

My house is all electric, but I also have a fireplace.
