Date night!
Chips and salsa/pico de gallo, grilled chicken burritos with chipotle sauce, a nice salad, and water with lemon.

I had roasted beef hotdogs with seasoned baked french fries, and cold bottled water to drink.

Back on my all-day oats & water routine for today.

I got my potted nursery set up by the window in my apartment and ready to start yielding in the Spring: six cherry tomato plants, aloe vera, rosemary, lavender, and basil. I ordered a horticulture LED lamp for them.

A lot of the cherry tomatoes I’ll turn into sun dried tomatoes on the dashboard of my car once it heats up April/Mary.

Nothing like fresh herbs. I don’t care for the herbs in jars. Got to be fresh.

That’s great TK ,very innovative drying tomatoes on your dash 😁
I had a wrap with salad, mayo and smoked tinned tuna…now for a cuppa .

Greek yogurt, an apple, a little cheddar cheese, and a mug of spiced-up tomato juice [lemon juice and Tapatio hot sauce].

Fruit juice. Trying to decide whether to have a bowl of squash soup or do some more work outside.

Mama said the tiramisu made her sick this morning. So I had a piece to see if I could figure out what might’ve been the culprit (also took my GERD meds to play it safe). It is soaked in coffee. But it also has a citrusy taste to it. She’s not supposed to have anything w citrus in it. So that may be what did it. Or the coffee. Or the chocolate. Or the cocoa powder.

Hi Lily,

I’m sorry that your Mom didn’t feel well after eating the Tiramisu.

We both like it.

I don’t care for coffee, but I’ll eat desserts made with it. I like Tiramisu, but I also think that it can be a rather rich dessert, kind of like cheese cake, and I also love cheese cake, too. 🙂

I also think that it’s made with eggs and some kind of rich creamy filling, too.

I checked on some recipes for you, and it’s either made with coffee or Espresso, and Marscapone cheese for the filling, and then several egg yolks, too.

When my husband and I have it, we just usually get one piece of it, and then split it between the two of us. 🙂

I hope that your Mom feels better soon! ❤️

Thank you so much, oldgraymare2. Does marscapone cheese have a citrusy flavor? I’m not aware of having tasted it outside of this tiramisu. The one I first tasted was at an Italian restaurant and it had a whipped cream filling. They brought us a H-U-G-E bowl, enough for a family of six. Mama fell in love with it and ate 1/8 of it while I ate the rest. (Never tell me, “You can’t eat all that” because I will.)

Edit: The Italian restaurant was visited 2 times during Moody Bluegrass weekend in 2005 and then two weeks later, I treated my mother for her birthday.

I found a recipe on how to make Marscapone cheese if someone wants to make it at home if they can’t find it in the store or supermarket, and you can make it using either lemon or cream of tartar, and cream.

So, there would be your citrus flavor to it, if lemon juice is used to make it instead of cream of tartar.

I’ve had it both ways. Don’t like the lemon.

I had a cinnamon bun for lunch. Did not have access to my salad, and my dental implant stitches are hurting. Too tight.

I LOVE salmon burgers! I eat salmon once in a while, but no other meat. Oh, an occasional tuna salad. Mostly, I stick to plant-based foods.

Thank you so much! Mama said she’s sure it was the citrus that made her sick. It was overpowering. Even the piece I had is still with me (lemon is too strong). I’ve never had tiramisu this strong. I’m going to warn those I know who aren’t allowed to have anything citrus about this. I told Mama to let me know by tomorrow what she wants to do with the other pieces she has.

I’m sorry to hear this. 😥

I don’t think that I’ve ever had it with lemon in it.

I know that I’ve had it where I could really taste the coffee or the Espresso in it. I don’t eat it all that often. Just once in awhile. My husband probably likes it more than I do, so I’ll share it with him if he really wants some.
