Isn’t the head in the pan movie The Brain That Wouldn’t Die?

Roger Corman’s The Undead comes to mind. As does Treasure Island w/Jack Palance as Long John Silver – a bad movie that made itself worse by having Jim Hawkins side with the pirates at the end.
I stand corrected! :doh2: In fact, the decapitated woman is known as “Jan in the Pan”. Can’t leave our CAF friends out there without a picture planted in their minds…

Enjoy! :whackadoo::whackadoo::whackadoo:

One more contender!!!

"Five Million Years to Earth", a 1967 British sci-fi “thriller” (on TCM today). It features scores of marching demonic Martian grasshoppers. I’m not kidding! Dramatic value: zilch. Comedic value: priceless!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I may be more fussy than others, but I really disliked the Chernobyl Diaries.

My wife and I went to see that off-peak hours and we had the whole theater to ourselves.

Also, as an environmental scientist, let me just elaborate that radiation poisoning does not give humans and dogs olympic-like reflexes and great strength.

A lot of the Soviets who originally went in there to clean up that mess have had some pretty nasty health effects.

:gopray:

Above and beyond all doubt, The Phantom of the Paradise, starring William Finley, (who, thankfully,🙂 was never heard from again,) and Paul Williams, (who ,unfortunately:shrug:, was.)

It was billed as a musical/horror but proved to be only a horrible musical, featuring a lot of horrible music. In all it was a poorly thought out rip off of The Phantom of the Opera that looked like it had been produced by Max Sennet. The dialogue, and action were pure slapstick, but sadly not funny. The icing on the cake making it totally unbearable was the omni-presense of the miserable midget.

It was so enjoyable that I was on my way out while they were changing reels. 😃

I liked Phantom of the Paradise.

Make room for Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny on the list of bad films.

Speaking of Mr. Palance, Hawk the Slayer is another “so bad it’s almost good” film starring him. It’s a 1980 fantasy film full of cheesy special effects (including, I kid you not, weaponized silly string), characters who are either flat and wooden or who’ve joined Jack in eating every piece of scenery that is not nailed down, “special” guest star actors who would only be recognized by those familiar with the Carry On… films, a soundtrack that came straight from a pretentious prog-rock album (quoth Kevin Murphy: “For those who didn’t think there could be a Yingwe Malmsteen of the panflute, I invite you to feast your ears…”), and half the scenes looking like album cover shots for said pretentious prog-rock album.

The plot, such as it is, involves Hawk, played by a forgettable actor, swearing vengeance on his brother (Palance’s blatant ripoff of Darth Vader, never mind that there has to be 30 years’ worth of difference in age between the two) for killing their father (who looks like he could pass for Palance’s younger brother) and his fiancee. He has to “get the band back together” (the band here being a less than impressive giant, a wise-cracking dwarf who ends up being the only intentionally entertaining character, and an elf who has the voice of Spock and the archery skills of Robocop programmed by Mike Jitlove, all three of them the last of their races) so that they can save the abbess of a convent from the clutches of Palance, who is holding her ransom for 2,000 pieces of gold that he needs because… the plot demands it.

They’re aided in their quest by Magenta from Rocky Horror, whose entire direction seems to have been “act mysterious and possibly afflicted by emphysema” and who hijacked Zod’s prison from Superman, and W. Morgan Shepard, as another stop-motion archery prodigy.

Much of the action is heroic sociopathy often filmed at angles and frame compositions guaranteed to leave you scratching your head as to what the heck is going on. And the less said about the final duel between Hawk and Palance, the better.

And they’re thinking of making a sequel.

John Travolta’s Battlefield Earth, (based on Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard’s novel) was a particularly painful experience. I like a good cheesy sci-fi B movie every now and then, but this film was just a train wreck that left me utterly embarrassed for poor Travolta.

Escape from New York (sci-fi garbage from 1981 starring Kurt Russell as Snake Priskin-I LOATHE this film)

Runner up is Predator (more 80’s Sci-Fi)

I’m not really a movie person. But several years ago, in 2007, I think, I went to a movie with a friend who wanted to see it, and I was so bored! It was “Lucky You” with Drew Barrymore. The whole thing was literally watching a poker game. And all the person I had gone with said after the movie was, “That makes me want to play poker!” I thought…okay… I was so bored! Honestly, the most boring movie I think I remember having ever seen.

You mean: *Snake Pliskin *(“I thought he was dead!?”)

Anyway, you are
[SIGN1]WRONG![/SIGN1]
on both counts.

Good grief, both of those movies are top-shelf classics!:doh2:

I’ve seen both of them no less than 7 or 8 times apiece!

I bet you didn’t like Big Trouble In Little China either.

More of my favorite “worsts”…

“Incubus”, a 1966 film about a murderous succubus stalking a virtuous soldier, played by William Shatner. The fun factor here is that the movie is done entirely in Esperanto. (Yes, you read correctly 😃 ) TCM shows it every once in a while. Keep your eyes peeled…

“The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant” (1971) with Bruce Dern as a mad doctor who grafts the head of a depraved murderer-rapist onto the body of a mentally-challenged but physically impressive young man. Also stars Casey Kasem and Pat Priest, whom some of you may remember as “Marilyn” in “The Munsters”. I saw “Transplant” a few months ago, but I cannot recall on which network.

That guy on the left sort of reminds me of Jeb Bush.

It just depends on what you mean by “bad.” I sometimes love films that have terrible production qualities or idiotic plots, but I detest movies that are boring. Plan 9 From Outer Space may have technically been awful, but it’s loads of fun to watch, whereas I’ve walked out of the theatre in the middle of Academy Award winning films that were terribly dull. I don’t know.🤷 The worst one that pops into my head is The Terror of Tiny Town, an old musical Western whose entire cast is made up of shrill, yodeling midgets. That one made my brain hurt, although I guess the soundtrack was okay, in an Alvin and the Chipmunks kind of way.

You’re exactly right! :yup: While these movies were gosh-darn-awful, they were far from boring. I mean, really, who does a movie in Esperanto? 😃

Also, it’s Snake Plissken, not Snake Prisken. It may seem somewhat pedantic for me to nitpick, but considering the fact that Escape From New York and it’s sequel were loosely based upon my life story, I feel I have that right.

SuperLuigi, you’ve been reviving a lot of old threads lately. Are you *trying *to get in trouble? :p:D

One movie that I thought of and haven’t seen mentioned. The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, from 2000. Absolutely dreadful and unfunny CGI/live action adaptation of the classic cartoon. Fortunately this was in the days where wheelchair users like myself got in free to Carmike Cinemas, so I wasn’t out any money on the ticket, just the time spent watching the movie and the gas to drive to the theater. 😛
