I need new prayers to inspire my prayer life. I am looking for things concerning anxiety and trepidation about the past and the future of my life. Maybe like the serenity prayer. Thanks!
I won’t normally recommend this, but it sounds like you need something to calm you and make you peaceful in your thoughts. So in your case, I am recommending that your read something by Joel Olsteen.I need new prayers to inspire my prayer life. This is one of my favorite prayers, especially when I am anxious about “finding my way”.I need new prayers to inspire my prayer life. I am looking for things concerning anxiety and trepidation about the past and the future of my life. Maybe like the serenity prayer. Thanks!
MY LORD GOD, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore I will trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

I pray this every day:
** As I arise today,
may the strength of God pilot me,
the power of God uphold me,
the wisdom of God guide me.
May the eye of God look before me,
the ear of God hear me,
the word of God speak for me.
May the hand of God protect me,
the way of God lie before me,
the shield of God defend me,
the host of God save me.
~ St. Patrick**
I also find this hymn/prayer very peaceful. Here is a nice version from You Tube:
