The way the current mass is celebrated has been approved by the Pope and different dicastries including the Congregation for divine worship & sacraments. I would take their legislated documents as proof enough of the validity of the practice and not the changes as a fanatic’s plaything.
The description of the special catechesis as found in the statutes is “This celebration, prepared by appropriate catecheses, helps to rediscover the paschal splendor emphasized by the Second Vatican Council and to experience communion among the brothers and sisters.”
I do not believe that there was a need to form a whole new rite or form given that the changes are actually quite small, they are more like additions anyhow, and the roman rite, in it’s entirety, is still used. Should things have been done differently? I cannot say, but I trust in the authorities God has placed.
And I would not say being “born into a community”, but rather “XXXXXX is a member of a community born 4 years ago,” or “This community of 25 people was born last week.” The born part refers to a community as a whole. I’m not exactly sure how else to put it except that it doesn’t not refer to a personal experience, but simply a formative point in time. Perhaps cheif714 was merged into an already existing community, if not it might be a reference from an ontological perspective, rather than by physical birth or the change of nature conferred by baptism. (Ie. Pimp/Drug dealer that converts and leaves his old life behind [not calling cheif714 a drug dealer!])
