From a pagan point of view, I wonder why the pagan gods permitted the false religion of Christianity in all its forms to take over the Earth

Well it hasn’t won yet. Worship has gone on every since then in one way or another. As to why the major loss. The Gods never left us, we left them.

What types of rituals are you performing?

I double checked the rules. I should be okay posting this as the purpose is education and apologetics not proslytization. Link That’s about what I do, sometimes a simpler version.

I apologize if it is.

And how do you know that Satan isn’t performing these ‘blessings’ for you to keep you away from his nemesis, Christ? Satan works through paganism and the occult. That’s well-known. What a blow it would be to go through one’s whole life feeling blessed and protected by a group of deities only to find out it’s the Prince of Lies. IMO, that’s the source of your granted wishes…watch out!

The same way you know your Jesus isn’t the greatest evil this world has ever known. Faith.

Thanks for your replies, I learned a lot! I have some buds who are self-proclaimed pagans. They say things like “Pack up the household gods, we’re going to visit such-and-such!”

They are very cool and completely moral. They don’t lie, cheat or steal and they are generous. Not to mention way intelligent. They act more Christian than an Evangelist Xtian friend of mine who refused to donate to charity for Haiti earthquake because she figured her husband’s federal income tax already took care of it. How lame is that???

Anyway, my pagan buds and I went to a Renn Faire in Maryland the other year. Had a blast. Too many bumblebees, though.

The only thing that gives me heebie-jeebies is when you phrase things like “your Jesus.” Oh well, I guess it’s better to have beef with Jesus than to not care about Him either way. It keeps the dialogue going.

Sorry about barking at the non-theists; I should have said ‘they don’t have a god in this fight,’ not ‘they don’t have a dog in this fight.’ LOL.

I should probably qualify this post by affirming my belief and faith in the LORD, the God of Israel, in Jesus Christ His Only Son Our Lord and The Holy Spirit. And I think that He rocks.

So, I found all the old posts that you made three years ago, in an effort to understand.

I get it now.

1. You were poorly catechized. No one could give you a straight answer about the RCC. Or, no two answers, like snowflakes, were alike.
2. You got in too deep with traditionalists too early in your walk in Christianity.
3. You were more in love with the sacramentals and incidentals of the RCC than with Jesus Christ. You never got to know Jesus Christ. It’s like caring more about having more posters, buttons and fan club membership cards of your favorite band than going to see their concert/meet the band.
4. I kind of started skimming later on but did one issue have to do with getting l.a.i.d.? Well join the club; I’ve lost more boyfriends than I can count because I didn’t bang them out of obedience to my Christian faith. Screw those guys anyway, they didn’t really luh me.

Because of items 1 and 2, I think the people who steered you wrong may catch a bad one and not you. I’m a convert to the RCC since the 80s and I still can’t get a 100% handle on all the Catholic way to do stuff LOL.

Three ways to get to know Jesus Christ: a) ask Jesus into your heart the good ol’ Southern Baptist way, b) re-ignite your love of the Blessed Virgin Mary c) you won’t catch on fire if you spend a little time before the Eucharist. You shut up and let God do the talking.

(Probably not popular here to suggest a Christian tradition outside the RCC but if Jesus Christ is being adored and worshiped in it, it’s not a bad thing. Only thing, you’re in the South; unless you are a hardcore Rethuglican, you might want to try a black Protestant church first. Protestant churches down South have gotten to be very Red State.)

Not a bad thing what tradition are they if any?

They are very cool and completely moral. They don’t lie, cheat or steal and they are generous. Not to mention way intelligent. There are some that are talking of refusing aid to anyone that refuses to renounce Voudoun.

Certainly a big part of it. An the Writings of the Church Fathers Juxtaposed with the Catechism and Post-VII Pronouncements of Popes are so different it takes a lot of jumping through hoops to get it to jell. To the point it is like reconciling two separate Churches.

1. You got in too deep with traditionalists too early in your walk in Christianity.

Shockingly the Trads drew me in and are what kept me in and helped me return breifly.

1. You were more in love with the sacramentals and incidentals of the RCC than with Jesus Christ. You never got to know Jesus Christ.

Actually the sacramentals helped me grow closer. It was when I approached Jesus alone without them and got a good look at some parts of History that turned him from Beloved King/Bother/Friend/Father into well charity prevents me from using the term let us just say not a nice God.
